The team supports business execution of new programs and initiatives that include operational cost planning, financial analysis, new product launches,
network redesigns, strategic planning, and cost control functions.
The scope of this position is transportation network strategic planning required to support transportation of manufacturing parts, returnable packaging systems, and third-party logistics services.Indispensable Requirements (Candidates who do not meet these requirements may be discarded):Ability to organize and summarize large data sets.Prepare executive-level presentations with clear and concise recommendations.Experience in data organization, data scrubbing, data management, and process mapping.
Planning experience in transportation, logistics, or related areas.Project management, procurement planning, and contract negotiation skills.
Transportation planning and logistics analysis.
(Preferred)English level: AdvancedSoft Skills:Effective communicationAnalysis and problem solvingStrategic thinkingProject managementStrategic financial visionInfluence and negotiationMain Functions:Oversee a team engaged in planning and managing key strategic initiatives that optimize the cornerstones of Daimler's transportation network to create a stable, capable, and robust world-class supply chain.Direct the planning and development of initiatives that create a transparent and fully integrated North American transportation network.
Lead a team responsible for developing inbound logistics network strategy.Lead logistics studies and modeling that supports systemic transportation network improvements in North America and supports the efficient forward and reverse flow of production material and returnable packaging.Proactively identify and solve transportation issues to enable best-in-class logistics performance.
Support logistics and transportation cost analysis in support of business initiatives.Participate in regular meetings with transportation service providers to develop and implement cost-effective transportation service offerings and track progress of specific projects including the identification of obstacles for resolution.Create win-win commercial strategies that drive innovation and delight our customers while supporting key strategic initiatives
