.Buyer - Customer Care and Aftersales Initial Orders (Level 6)Job DescriptionHybrid This role is categorized as hybrid.
This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Toluca Regional Engineering Center (TREC) three times per week, at minimum.The Role: A successful Initial Order Buyer is responsible for contracting initial order contracts for service and is customer (stakeholder) focused, influences change, and accepts ownership and accountability for accomplishing program launch deliverables.What You'll Do (Responsibilities)Conduct supplier meetings, remove roadblocks & resolve issues related to packaging quotes, minimum order quantities.Send RFQs to suppliers,
negotiate packaging and process initial order contracts following launch metrics.Work independently with decisions made based on established policies and procedures.Respond to internal inquiries about vendors, price, and availability of materials and tools.Promote the adoption of new processes and simplification.Maintain records of prices and terms negotiated with suppliers.Cross-functional collaboration.GM Systems & Cross-Functional Collaboration:Issue part AID to document updates necessary for part changes.Review Engineering ARC/ECR/EDGE system for change authorization.Close collaboration with Engineering, Supply Chain, and the broader purchasing team.Negotiate to align supplier packaging to GM's volume requirements.Understand Service Plan knowledge for shipping logistics.Collaborate with suppliers to ensure alignment with engineering.Engage with Supply Chain to verify part readiness and shipping concerns.Utilize Purchasing Portal for metrics on parts and program timing.Issue contracts and update for standard packs and inventory.Archive all quote and contract negotiation details for audit compliance.Candidates must demonstrate the following required competencies:NegotiationCommunicationAnalytical ThinkingWorkload Management/PrioritizationRelationship ManagementVendor/Supplier ManagementDecision MakingRequired Experiences:Developing Contracts / AgreementsComfortable working with cross-cultural teamsAbility to deal with ambiguity and forward-thinking environment.Intermediate knowledge in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Good interpersonal skills for effective cross-functional teamwork.Effective written and oral communication skills.Ability to multitask and handle diverse assignments.Knowledge of commodities, materials, and products being purchased.Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience.Well-developed organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.In case you need any reasonable adjustment to continue with your process, let your recruiter know.Remember to attach your CV when applying to this vacancy.About GMOur vision is a world with Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions, and Zero Congestion
