We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Risk Generalist and Advisory

Principal responsibilities:

- Impact on Business/Function




- Provide quality risk and control analysis and develop guidance for cross-functional stakeholders on Risk and Control Assessments, Continuous Monitoring Plans, and Management of Issues related to controls impacting region, proactively identifying issues and ensuring continuous improvement of environment
- Mitigate future and emerging risks to operational processes and systems by identifying the need for intervention following an issue or event, escalating, and determining path to remediate
- Customers/Stakeholders:

- Articulate Risk and Control profile of various Functions and Areas, providing clear and detailed explanations for use by US stakeholders, including but not limited to Risk Owners, Risk Stewards, and CCO
- Ensure holistic and accurate view of risk profile for key stakeholders such as Operational Risk, Risk Stewards, and Internal / External Audit
- Leadership & Teamwork:

- Assist in holding Risk and Control owners accountable for understanding risk and control profile
- Cultivate a positive controls culture and a culture of continuous improvement when interacting with stakeholders on control related matters




- Make considered decisions that protect and enhance HSBC values, reputation and business
- Risk Management and Controls:

- The role holder will continually reassess operational risks and likelihood of operational risk occurring.
This will be achieved by reviewing risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, or as identified by the DBS CCO, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and impact of new processes.
- The role holder will be responsible for developing relevant risk management reporting for Board and Executives as required.
- The role holder addresses any areas of concern in conjunction with line management and/or the appropriate department.




The jobholder is also expected to adhere to programme governance standards to minimise the likelihood of operational risk.
The role holder will adopt the Group Compliance Policy by escalating any identified compliance risk in liaison with, Global Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer.
The term 'compliance' embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply.
This will be achieved by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures and by liaising with Compliance department about new business initiatives at the earliest opportunity.
Also and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimising relations with regulators.
Requirements

Qualification

**Experience**:

- 7+ years of financial industry experience,



and some international experience preferred
- Experience across Operations, Risk Management, and / or Audit roles requiring management of diverse risk types, including but not limited to operational, regulatory, market, traded, and credit risk

**Skills**:

- Intellectually curious, willing to dive into issues to identify root causes and think critically on sustainable solutions
- Ability to build and shape narratives and work with CCO staff to influence senior management on a variety of risk-management-related topics
- Detail-oriented and able to work independently and distil complex, ambiguous information to create insights for leaders
- Ability to quickly analyse a status quo and identify opportunities for continuous improvement or process re-engineering
