The Technical Ceramics business of Morgan Advanced Materials engineers high-performance functional and structural ceramic materials, components, and sub-assemblies to address customer-specific technical challenges.

ResponsibilitiesJob Purpose: The Production Supervisor Role reports directly to the Value Stream Manager.
Responsibilities include organizing, coordinating, and supervising the daily operations and activities of multiple production departments on multiple work shifts, and performing related work as assigned.
Develop an overall production schedule, execute lean manufacturing concepts, and implement process control.

We help improve the quality of life with our implantable medical components, and we ensure the safety of travelers by developing multiple components for the Aerospace industry.
Essential Functions: Improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost Key Performance Indicators.Analyze, recommend, and solve problems.Own & facilitate cost improvement projects that directly translate into productivity.Manage workforce, either directly or through lead persons, to meet delivery schedules to customers & complete all relevant documentation.Ensure the correct staffing levels in accordance with customer demand.Facilitate team leader workflow management, workforce scheduling, and team members' placement to ensure the facility and company goals are successfully met or exceeded.Ensure clean and safe work areas are maintained.




Lead the departmental 5S program in accordance with Morgan's 5S policy.Prepare and review departmental reports.Instruct Inspectors and Operators to ensure conformance to specifications.Work with HR/EHS to implement company policies and enforce safety regulations.Interpret specifications, blueprints, and other documentation, and translate to workforce.Help manage the new product development transition process converting prototype builds into full production runs.Ensure all required equipment & tools have been procured for the manufacturing team to effectively complete their tasks.Design & implement measurements to improve production methods, equipment performance, efficiencies,



and quality of product.Analyze and resolve problems with equipment and employees.Maintain employee timesheets and PTOs.Generate positive reinforcement reminders and offer positive feedback to employees.Train new employees, lead persons, and assist with new engineer training.Offer technical support/feedback to engineering to aid in troubleshooting/process improvements.Work with supply chain & customer service personnel to review component availability.Plan how to best use furnaces and other equipment to maximize output.Conduct daily meetings with the gemba team to review KPIs and assign actions & owners.Perform various tasks as assigned by Site Leader or Operations Manager.Conduct all tasks in a safe and efficient manner complying with all local, state, and federal EHS regulations and with Morgan New Bedford, MA EHS Guidelines.
Guidelines include but are not limited to participation in required EHS training and use of proper PPE.




Employees are responsible for reporting hazardous conditions and job-related injuries or illnesses to their supervisor.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications and Education Requirements High school diploma or general education degree.
Bachelor degree preferred.Must be Bilingual (Spanish / English).5-7 years of experience in large manufacturing environment leading teams.Experience working with lean manufacturing, production planning, methods and techniques.Knowledge of equipment setup, functions, and operation procedures; procedures on inspection, quality assurance, safety requirements, and shipping practices.Knowledge of basic math; hazardous materials handling and emergency response procedures.Proven experience leading and influencing employees in safety procedures and developing a safety culture.Material management systems and inventory control procedures.Strong knowledge of supervision,



training, and personnel administration.
Proven experience in performance management techniques.Ability to lead a dynamic team of skilled operators and lead by example.Must be able to carry out written, oral, or diagram form instructions.Proven track record of developing and coaching high-performance individuals.Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
