Abiomed, a leading medical device company, is seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic to join our Engineering team in Aachen, Germany.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer in our Operations department, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to the development and production of life-saving medical devices.
You will work closely with our experienced engineers to improve and develop processes within the medical device industry.
Key Responsibilities Process development and improvement for manufacturing processes of existing and future products.
Establish structures for process performance assessment and data-driven decision-making.
Drive and own process optimization and prepare internal and external reports without direct supervision.
Prepare and present internal presentations to the Abiomed management.
Complete tasks in a timely manner without direct supervision.
Lead project teams while managing and mentoring the timely execution of tasks for self and others.
Qualifications Education MS (Dipl.
Ing.)
in mechanical engineering or directly related scientific field.
Experience and Skills Required 5 years of related work experience desired.
Must have expertise with Engineering CAD software such as SolidWorks.
Initial experience with applicable manufacturing processes and process improvement strategies.
Familiarity with DOE, inspection methods, process characterization/optimization, and input/output relationships.
Ability to communicate ideas and information clearly, effectively, and frequently (oral and written).
Comfortable driving tasks in a multi-functional organization requiring collaboration with R&D;, Quality, MFG, and facilities.
Preferred Medical device/regulated work environment experience preferred.
Familiar with project management terms and concepts.
Experience with injection molding and extrusion preferred.
Knowledge in crafting equipment and fixtures for cleanroom environment.
Other Proficient in German and English.
Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
May require up to 10% travel - US & EU.
