The Senior Accountant & Tax Specialist is responsible for overseeing the company's global accounting operations and tax compliance across international subsidiaries.
This position will ensure that all financial records are accurate, tax obligations are met, and financial statements are prepared in compliance with both local and international regulations.
The Senior Accountant & Tax Specialist will collaborate with senior management to optimize the company's financial performance while ensuring effective tax planning and regulatory adherence.
The key responsibilities of this position include: Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and consolidation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for all international entities.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial data, in compliance with local GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), and other applicable standards.
Prepare and review balance sheets, income statements, and other key financial reports.
Accounting Operations:
Supervise day-to-day accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closings.
Tax Compliance and Planning: Oversee and manage tax compliance for all jurisdictions where the company operates, ensuring adherence to local, regional, and international tax laws.
Prepare and file corporate tax returns, VAT/GST filings, transfer pricing documentation, and other tax-related reports.
Develop tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize the company's global tax position.
Liaise with external tax advisors and local tax authorities to ensure the company meets all its tax obligations.
Transfer Pricing:
Ensure compliance with transfer pricing regulations across the company's international operations.
Review transfer pricing documentation and policies in line with local and international requirements.
Audit & Regulatory Oversight: Coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate audits of financial statements and tax returns.
Act as the primary point of contact for tax audits and other regulatory inquiries.
Internal Controls & Financial Policies: Develop, implement, and monitor internal control procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting and to prevent fraud.
Strengthen the internal control environment and support internal audit activities.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Tax Provisioning: Collaborate with senior management to develop annual budgets, forecasts, and tax provisions.
Analyze tax-related budget variances and financial performance, providing recommendations for improvements.
Prepare tax provisions and ensure the proper accounting for income taxes in line with local and international tax laws.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant and Tax Specialist to oversee financial reporting, tax compliance, and accounting operations across multiple jurisdictions.
The ideal candidate will have: 5+ years of experience in accounting, tax compliance, and financial reporting, in an international environment.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and international tax regulations, including VAT/GST and transfer pricing.
Proficiency in financial systems and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to manage complex financial data and optimize tax strategies.
Experience in preparing corporate tax returns and liaising with tax authorities.
A proactive, organized, and detail-oriented mindset, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, external auditors, and tax advisors.
Fluency in English and Spanish.
