Project details Our client is seeking a Data Governance Specialist to ensure data integrity, compliance, and optimal use across our organization.
This role involves defining governance frameworks, overseeing data quality, and supporting testing of data pipelines.
Your Team We are looking for 2 specialists: Data Governance Specialist and Data Python Engineer.

Ensure data quality through manual testing, automated pipeline tests, and performance metrics.
Create detailed use cases for testing biological datasets, including edge cases for scientific accuracy.
Extract structured tables from scientific literature,
writing test functions to catch format inconsistencies.
Verify that platform updates perform as expected and test data integrity by helping cross-reference the platform's database entries with original raw data sources.
Collaborate with teams to define data ownership, stewardship, and regulatory compliance.
Promote governance best practices and continuous improvement including documenting the data governance process.
Skills Background in Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field is highly valued.
Relevant domain expertise and experience may substitute formal education.
Expertise in data governance principles, quality assurance, and testing processes, especially in biological or scientific data contexts.
Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and knowledge of data engineering tools.
Proficiency with biological data, and programming languages such as R or Python.
Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, and stakeholder management skills.
