Job Description Summary: The Checkout & Beyond team, which is the core payment business at PayPal, is looking for a customer-focused and technical Product Manager to own and drive core components of PayPal’s merchant checkout platforms. You will play a key role in designing and crafting the technology large, medium and small merchants use to enable PayPal on their sites and in their apps.
This is a chance to get deep into the needs of Paypal’s merchants from large enterprises to small neighborhood shops, and drive fundamental innovation that allows them to grow their businesses. Our merchants are Paypal's engine and you’ll be at the forefront of significant opportunity.
**Job Description**:
**Responsibilities**
Demonstrating a genuine and passionate desire to improve the merchant integration experience, you will own the product strategies and define the requirements needed to achieve your strategic vision.
You’ll define the product roadmap and collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Business, Analytics, Product marketing, Program management, Risk and Legal) to execute on the roadmap
You’ll define the goals and expected outcomes of these roadmap items, aligning with portfolio objectives and key results (OKRs).
Working with an agile scrum team you’ll execute on your detailed requirements or user stories as well as ruthlessly prioritize your backlog.
Partner strongly with your Engineering to drive product development with an iterative approach to continually build, release, and improve end to end solutions and achieve outcomes.
Work with analytics partners to evaluate experiment and launch outcomes as well as ongoing product performance to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
**Skills**
5+ years of Payments, Fintech or eCommerce product management experience.
Experience with web and mobile technologies such as APIs and SDKs. Experience in API design a plus. Experience as a web developer also a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business or other equivalent degree. MBA highly preferred.
Proven track record of launching products that have real business and customer impact.
Strong product thinking,
ability to advocate for the best merchant experience and continually make prioritization decisions to focus on the best value for them.
Ability to translate product needs into technical requirements, understand technology dependencies, and discuss technical trade-offs with Engineering
Strong cross-org and cross-functional collaboration skills. Demonstrated ability to drive and influence complex decision-making and build consensus
Excellent written and verbal communication and ability to simplify complex technical solutions for human consumption.
Robust problem-solving ability, breaking down complex challenges to find solutions.
Highly comfortable with data and making data-backed product decisions.
Some travel required.
