We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of
**Climate Portfolio Credit Risk and Stress testing Manager**
**Role purpose**:
Wholesale Credit Risk (WCR) department within HSBC measures and monitors global credit and market risks arising from lending and trading activities as well as providing credit approval for corporates and financial institutions.
The Risk Reporting team within WCR supports portfolio analysis and monitoring, produce reports for Risk Management Meetings and Board meetings.
It also monitors the credit quality,
identifies, measures and controls credit risk throughout the institution by participating in credit risk projects.
**Main activities**:
- Conducting Climate analysis of higher climate risk sectors to understand trends and concerns and benchmarking to other Group offices.
- Work with stakeholders to establish and maintain new analysis, reporting and procedures
- Implementation of the Wholesale Credit Risk Climate Stress Testing Programme.
Developing, managing, leading and executing enterprise-wide, LATAM, US and UK regulatory and internal stress testing exercises to assess Climate Risk vulnerabilities in the portfolio and to inform credit appetite and strategic risk management actions.
- Review and analysis of portfolio MI and stress testing results, presenting findings to senior management and documenting and recommending actions.
- Participate in Group discussions for development of new reporting and data requirements, conceptualizing uses of data to help the bank deliver on its Climate ambition.
- Support and deliver climate credit risk regulatory reporting.
- Work with relevant regional and global stakeholders within WCMR, Global Risk Analytics, Finance and the Businesses.
- Support engagement with local and global regulators.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders
- Demonstrate strong communication skills to seek cooperation, persuade, or influence others, including peers, senior management, colleagues within the Group, internal and external auditors.
- Work collaboratively with and provide support to key stakeholders in other functions.
**Requirements**:
**Knowledge & Experience**
**Skills**:
- Excellent analytical skills including analytical languages (SQL/ SAS/ Python etc.)
is preferred.
- Experience working with MI visualization tools such as Business Objects/ Tableau / Qlikview etc.
is a plus
- An interest in and passion for Climate related business; sustainability, transition risk and the social response to achieve future climate targets.
- Understanding of Climate related risks (transition and physical), with the skill to think strategically and lead the way in WCMR's approach to Climate Risk.
- Experience in a Wholesale Credit Risk, with knowledge of credit and reporting systems
- Be change oriented and able to cope with pressure and tight deadlines
- Ability to deal in a multi-stakeholder relationship in a complex environment
- Good communication skills (oral and written) and good interpersonal skills with positive attitude are essential.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize effectively and meet tight deadlines as required.
**Experience**:
- Experience in corporate banking / wholesale risk management/ portfolio management in multiple corporate sectors/ geographies.
- Professional experience in a financial services or consulting firm.
- Knowledge of HSBC Group, its operations, systems and products and risk systems preferable
- Willing to work with colleagues in other areas/time zones where appropriate
- Prior experience in dealing with virtual business partners across the globe
