We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced individual to join our team as a Movie and Music Licensing and Content Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for acquiring and managing licensing rights for movie and music content, as well as the curation and management of the content.
Your expertise in licensing, combined with a deep understanding of the movie industry, will enable you to curate and deliver compelling content to our target audience. This position requires strong negotiation skills, content management proficiency, and a passion for movies and music.
Non-negotiables for this role:

Qualities we are looking for:
- 0-3 years of experience




- Bachelor's degree in Film, Media Studies, Business, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in movie licensing, music licensing, content management, or related roles in the entertainment industry.
- In-depth knowledge of the movie industry, including distribution models, rights management, and licensing practices.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Proficiency in using content management systems and databases.
- Familiarity with copyright laws, intellectual property rights, and licensing agreements.
- Excellent research and analytical abilities to assess market trends and identify licensing opportunities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to manage complex licensing portfolios.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
- Passion for movies and music, with a strong understanding of audience preferences and industry trends.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Licensing Acquisition and Negotiation:




- Identify and acquire licensing rights for movies and music content from production companies, distributors, licensing bodies/CMOs and artists.
- Conduct negotiations to secure licensing agreements, considering factors such as territory, duration, media, and financial terms.
- Maintain relationships with licensors, artists, CMOs and content owners to facilitate ongoing licensing partnerships.
- Rights Clearance and Compliance:
- Ensure all necessary permissions and clearances are obtained for the use of copyrighted materials in movies and music content.
- Conduct due diligence to verify ownership and rights status, minimizing the risk of infringement or legal disputes.
- Stay up-to-date with copyright laws, intellectual property rights, and licensing regulations to ensure compliance.
- Performance Analysis:




- Monitor and analyze the performance of licensed content, including usage and audience engagement.
- Content Management and Organization:
- Implement and maintain a centralized content management system for movies and music, including metadata, artwork, and promotional materials.
- Organize and categorize content to ensure easy retrieval
- Collaborate with internal teams to optimize workflows and streamline content management processes.
- Content Curation:
- Curate a diverse range of movie and music content that appeals to our audience, ensuring a high level of quality and relevance.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging talent, and new releases to inform content curation decisions.
OKRs:
- Licensing - At least 5 highly rated new movies every month
- Increased User Engagement - 25% month over month




- User Growth - 25% growth of Active Subscribers month over month
