This position is based in Mexico City and reports to Market Expansion Manager
- Accountabilities _
- The Sustainability Compliance and Governance Specialist ensures the entire supply chain complies with H&M; Group’s social & environmental standards and covers the Governance scope to ensure the sustainable supplier life cycle Management as predefined routines and guidelines to reduce risks and support traceability.
- Guiding the suppliers with close communication to find and understand the root causes of the areas of development; and taking action to bring consistent solutions using the methodologies and standards are the key responsibilities.
- This responsibility shelters the traceability of the method follow-up and documentation, SPUR management, and the accuracy of the certifications for new and existing suppliers.
- To ensure the quality of the suppliers’ team expertise, building the team competence internally and externally, securing the implementations and improvements are attainable.
- This role is the initial contact to facilitate onboarding the new suppliers and all tiers from a validation and governance perspective.
- Executing the necessary training, orientations, and workshops for internal and suppliers to update the improvement areas, best practices and new guidelines, and system updates, ensuring they are a part of the accountabilities of this role.
- Working closely with the suppliers to communicate the areas of improvement, guiding them to find the root causes, and bringing them to their attention to ensure they are equipped to carry out self-assessments that comply with our working methods and standards_._

- Regional Governmental bodies, Associations, 3rd party Audit Companies
- How you do it_
The expectation is to build strong with our suppliers and stakeholders to ensure transparent, progressive methodology implementations, sharing best practices and the expected results.
You define the road map for the region/country to reach H&M; Group’s short-, mid-, and long-term goals, align with internal and external stakeholders to execute for sustainability validation and governance activities.
To keep yourself proactively updated on regulatory changes, industry initiatives, and identifying priorities for our organization and the suppliers.
Be proactive in suggesting and implementing creative and practical solutions.
**Qualifications**:
- Qualification _
- 7 years of experience in social and environmental standards, audits, and validations at international brands or 3rd parties.
- Bachelor’s degree,
preferable as an Environmental Engineer or/and Social Sciences.
- No domestic and international travel restrictions
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to build a partnership with all stakeholders to ensure a strong foundation for progressive sustainability and traceability roadmap for the supply chain.
- Being solution-oriented with practical, creative, and long-lasting actions to answer short and long-term challenges.
- Involve, and cooperate with multiple stakeholders internally and externally to ensure that all actions are meaningful and interact with the company and region road map.
- Proficiency English and Spanish speaking
