If so, Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) is looking for a Senior Operations Manager responsible for the strategic streamlining of border crossing operations to enable the access of products from US Fulfillment to our customers in Mexico.Candidates for this role must be capable of negotiating with carriers, couriers,
warehouse operators or distribution networks to design the best possible cost to serve for our clients and the business.
The role is expected to prepare and be accountable for the organization performance (monthly and quarterly business reviews), Peak readiness docs, and PRFAQ as needed.
This role is expected to align and negotiate with senior management to drive projects that improve speed of delivery, cost to serve, and operational efficiencies.Role is located in Amazon MEX16 in Mexico City with flexibility to travel to any US/MX border city such as Nuevo Laredo-Laredo, Tijuana-San Diego, Ciudad Juarez-El Paso.The ideal candidate is decisive and able to make decisions at critical times and whilst under pressure.
You must be able to lead a team and be sensitive to the needs of others, demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.Key job responsibilitiesMonthly and Quarterly Business Reviews with couriers to ensure data-driven improvementsOnboarding of new couriers or logistic service partners,
ensuring compliance with customs requirements for imports and exportsDrive innovative solutions to simplify imports and exports processes in conjunction with tech and product teamsDocument writing and presentation to senior leadership for strategic program launches and expansionAligning mid term and long term strategies for cross border operations working backwards from customer experienceLaunch 3P managed operations at different border crossing locationsDesign lean ops structures including mechanical and labor capacity and drive implementation with 3PA day in the lifeCandidates should exhibit the following traits:Demonstrated strong negotiation skills through document writing and verbal communicationStrong knowledge of customs compliance and trade regulations, understanding the nuances and risksSound understanding of business financials,
and ability to use data to drive cost improvements through efficiencies proposals or negotiationsProven analytical and data driven skills, able to both drill down big data and complement with market inputs/nuances to drive conclusions and actionsMinimum qualifications:3+ years of employee and performance management experienceBachelor's degree or equivalent, or 3+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experienceWork a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays3+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experienceOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
