The role holder is expected to lead, for country Regulatory Reporting department and for Country and Region, the Strategy & Planning function and Corporate Sustainability function and the deployment of its three strategic pillars including Sustainable Finance.
Summaries of each specific responsibility are hereby presented:
- As Head of Strategy & Planning, the role holder is expected to design and execute the strategy for country and region, engage Lines of Business in such deployment, produce market and competitive analysis, design and execute strategic projects including for products (for eg Credit Cards), segments (for eg BBU) and channels (for eg Call Centre), have a view on the Digital strategy of the bank,
lead all M&A; projects in conjunction with given LoB or with Group specialty functions such as Group M&A.;
The role holder is responsible for the strategic direction HSBC Mexico and the wider HSBC Latin America.
- As Head of Corporate Sustainability, the role holder leads the deployment in country and Region of the Group´s sustainability agenda, which includes the Future Skills strategy, as well as the Sustainable Finance programme, with its embedded targets.
The role holder controls the Community Investment budget, and is a member of the Global Sustainability ExCo.
The role holder plays a key role to consolidate HSBC's position in the transition to a low carbon economy, coordinating the strategy across the Global Businesses Heads in LAM Region.
- As Head of Regulatory Reporting, the role holder leads the design and deployment of improved framework with sustainable practices across the function to ensure full compliance with HBMX regulatory requirements.
- The role holder is member of the HBMX and LAM Executive Committees,
as well as HBMX Chair of the Regulatory Reporting Steering Committee and most other relevant governance and management committees of both banks.
And, finally, the role reports to the Mexico and LAM CEOs on an Entity-level (double-hat).
Principal Accountabilities:
- Lead a small highly effective team, supporting the implementation of the growth agenda in Mexico through analysis, thought leadership, interpersonal skills and rigorous tracking
- Formulate and implement the strategy for HSBC Latin America, in close contact with leadership teams and Country CEOs in the different countries and the Group Strategy team
- Formulate and implement the strategy for HSBC Mexico, and drive its execution, with Mexico being one of the key priorities for HSBC globally
- Perform Market and Competitor analysis,
as well as other ad-hoc analytical and strategic reports and studies
- Participate in strategic analyses, discussions and decisions at local level (HSBC Mexico) as well as regional (Latin America) and global level, in close partnership with Group and Regional stakeholders
- Manage, coordinate and produce corporate/institutional/regulatory presentations for Country CEOs and other key stakeholders
- Coordinate and Lead local and Group governance requirements, such as risk maps, CEO scorecards, and others
- Improve HSBC reputation by developing a sponsoring range of initiatives
- Consolidate institutional relations to develop business opportunities, building strong and trusted partnerships with governments, NGO's and other relevant business sectors
- Lead the agenda with the LoBs with regards to sustainable finance and deploy the Group´s targets in the region
- Manage the Community Investment in LAM to ensure all risks and controls are in place; encourage volunteering and staff engagement activities as appropriate
- Drive the Group's REDUCE strategy in LAM
Lead, review and analyze current business performance, markets, and competitors
- Coordinate negotiation and approvals for acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures business alliances and other changes to group structure with regional and Group
- Be involved in projects on an ad-hoc basis, which may mean projects for the Entity, for the Group, or for the Global Businesses operating within HSBC Mexico and HSBC Latin America (RBWM, CMB, and GBM)
- Lead a highly effective team supporting the implementation of an improved regulatory reporting framework including cultural transformation, governance and processes.
- Improve and consolidate HSBC reputation by developing strategic quality assurance for regulatory reports integrity
- Lead and participate in strategic analyses, discussions and decisions at local level to ensure compliance of regulatory requirements including monthly Regulatory Reporting Steering Committee
- Consolidate Key-stakeholders relations across businesses and functions in HBMX to build strong and trusted partnerships to strengthen reports ownership and sustainable practices
- Act as the ultimate escalation figure for regulatory reporting issues.
