**About
The IS/IT Product/Project Portfolio Specialist will assume the overarching responsibility for supporting IS/IT leadership and senior Product/Project Managers in overseeing, managing and optimizing the entire life cycle of IS/IT Product Groups to maximize business value delivery and value for money.
The role provides a consolidated view of product/project portfolio strategy, investment and timeline and provides/escalates data around the organizational aim of achieving an optimized mix among the various types of IS/IT Product/Project investments.
Analysis of these data points allows teams to make the best possible use of all resources and deliver the maximum value and benefits from Products/Projects within the Product/Project portfolio.
S/He may also provide advice and recommendations for identifying, prioritizing, and coordinating resources engaged with the IS/IT Product/Project portfolio.
The role manages and analyzes multiple views of the Product/Project portfolio data down to market level to allow Product/Project Managers and senior IS/IT management to define strategies and monitor their execution, under the supervision and guidance of her/his primary Community of Practice Lead and Head of Office of the CIO in Switzerland.
**Key Responsibilities
Contribution to IS/IT Strategy - under the supervision and guidance of her/his primary Community of Practice Lead and Head of Portfolio Management in Switzerland
- Champions IS/IT product/project portfolio goals and objectives IS/IT-wide and if needed enterprise-wide
- Leads reviews of any significant portfolio elements on a periodic basis and on demand if they are challenged
- Provides visibility on trends and forecasts versus plans and provides recommendations as to whether elements should continue as-is, be significantly changed,
placed on hold or discontinued
- Applies external and internal factors and best practices to portfolio formulation and development
- As mandated by leadership, makes recommendations on the balance of the required investments and capabilities across teams within the product/project portfolio
- Assisting teams in other departments with data (dashboards or Reports)
Operational effectiveness and efficiency
- Makes recommendations for the IS/IT portfolio overall or its various sub-portfolios that are clearly linked to IS/IT strategy, objectives and goals, reflecting an awareness of external dynamics
- Ensures the adherence to the appropriate governance functions relating to the Product/Project Portfolio and in accordance with enterprise guidelines, policies and practices
- Ensures the oversight and coordination of dependencies across the elements in the Product/Project Portfolio, and resolve or escalate conflicts
- Supports Product/Project Managers and pool leads for identifying, prioritizing, and coordinating resources engaged with all or many of the initiatives within the IS/IT Program Product/Project Portfolio
- Maintains an up-to-date portfolio structure and plans that meet the IS/IT strategy and needs of the organization
- Directs the creation and maintenance of the required portfolio management capability, including artifacts, awareness and process material
Stakeholder engagement
- Provides visibility and transparency to key stakeholders in the enterprise to the IS/IT portfolio value and plans
- Facilitates and coordinates the efforts of the senior leadership,
enterprise architecture and Product/Project managers toward the establishment of the Product/Project portfolio definition, its structure and investments, from demand management and strategic alignment; to portfolio categories and criteria; through evaluation, selection and prioritization; to execution, tracking and measuring the achieved value and adoption
- Engages with and conducts quarterly (or at other intervals as specified) reviews with senior Product/Project Managers, Business Relationship Managers and other relevant bodies to validate and assess the Product/Project Portfolio, execute change, and reprioritize to meet business needs as required
- Directs the development and maintenance of communications and reporting around the IS/IT portfolio and sub-portfolios, their contents and the individual performance of initiatives to IS/IT and business stakeholders and/or governance boards
- Collaborates with senior Product/Project Managers, BRMs and the Business to identify product/project portfolio level opportunities
**What you will need to succeed
- Bachelor's or master's degree in information systems, business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of diverse roles and increasing leadership responsibilities across major IS/IT projects and programs and ideally of portfolio management
- Strong Experience with data management and data reporting (Analysis, Extraction and consolidation)
- Proficient in Excel and Business Intelligence tools like Power BI.
