THE ROLE:
The Cost Estimator key role is to provide support in cost analysis activities for piece price, tooling, design changes, capital investment and volume changes related to Ford purchased parts and components.
In addition, Cost Estimation provides cost analysis for benchmarking purposes activities.
Internal customers are predominantly Program Finance, Purchasing, Program Management and Engineering.
This role will report to the PIA (Purchased in Assembly) Cost Estimation team and is responsible to:
- Develops manufacturing cost estimates for purchased components to support (but not limited to): Forward Model Programs in key Milestones, Current Model cost reduction work and Benchmarking
- Actively support Purchasing department during cost negotiations
- Participates in Supplier site visits
- Performs cost driver analysis and evaluates the impact of future technology actions
- Evaluates potential designs, from a manufacturing process perspective and highlight potential opportunities
- Makes change control analysis for cost increases over agreed thresholds
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
**Qualifications required**:
- Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics/Industrial Engineering, or related engineering student
- English proficiency
- Manufacturing processes knowledge such as: stamping, plastic injection, assembly and electronics.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills are desired.
- Advance skills in excel.

Team working mindset, data driven, analytical, proactive, effective communication, willingness to learn.
