WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH The Americas Private Equity Practice is a scale and high-growth part of Bain's business.
We support investor clients to drive their own businesses, make the right investment decisions, and create value in their portfolio businesses.
You will focus on Financial Services Private Equity clients, collaborating closely with the Global PEG Practice Director, Regional Practice Leaders, and the Healthcare Private Equity Sector Leads.
Your work will help define strategic initiatives for Healthcare-focused investors and portfolio companies, ensuring collaboration across the Practice Operations, Talent teams, and client-facing partners.
WHERE YOU'LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM This position will be integral to enabling the success of a Private Equity sector, directly involved with defining and executing against key strategic initiatives for the sector, driving commercial impact,
and providing support to Practice operations.The position will work closely with the Global PEG Practice Director, as well as the Private Equity Sector Leads.The position will involve multi-stakeholder collaboration across the Practice Operations and Talent, Regional Client Heads, and Private Equity Partners.WHAT YOU'LL DO Overview:Key point-of-contact within the Financial Services Private Equity practice vertical supporting day-to-day operations.Own and drive long-term initiatives with our most senior VPs (e.g., strategic direction, account planning).Directly manage, coordinate, and prioritize efforts across short-term asset building activities.Primary point-of-contact to execute against vertical strategic initiatives and imperatives.Coordinate with sector leads on strategic plans to increase execution against strategic plans.Commercial (Selling):Mobilize against near-in commercial opportunities; provide link to capabilities and industries to enable integrated diligence and post-acquisition work.Drive systematic review of priority client opportunities within the vertical.Develop materials on key market trends; track announced deals, deal outcomes, and Bain involvement.Develop, maintain and prioritize list of potential publicly announced targets coming to market based on market analysis and fund commentary.Support pitch materials for high-priority targets; leading coordination with coverage Partner, identifying relevant redbooks and POVs.Coordinate with AAG and PEGAR to recommend the highest priority tools and analytics for the sector.Coordination and Comms:Help to ensure coordination across practice, regions, and capability interlocks.Support and drive content for sector, practice, and annual planning meetings.Develop and maintain list of Bain and external experts on key sub-segments, particularly for upcoming deals or prioritized targets.ABOUT YOU Required: Bachelor's Degree and 6-9 years Management Consulting / Private Equity experience OR Master's Degree and 5-6 years of Management Consulting / Private Equity experience.Core skillsAbility to multi-task and continuously re-prioritize as things come up.Ability to drive complex content value creation work and lead analysis in a fast-paced environment.Superior communication skills with senior people in the firm and excellent business acumen.Collaborative – someone who knows how to work with and through others to drive results and make change happen.Entrepreneurial, proactive, and productive - someone who knows how to prioritize what needs to be done and rallies colleagues to get things accomplished.Bright – both insightful and creative, with strong problem-solving skills and pragmatic.Articulate and compelling in oral and written communication skills; engaging and concise.Energetic, with drive, enthusiasm, and natural skills in relationship development.Inspirational Leadership - track record of successfully managing high-performing team members.A great colleague and teammate - passionate about the task at hand and fun to be around.Preferred: Familiarity with or excitement about the Financial Services sector preferred, but not required.
