We specialize in fast-track projects in new commercial construction for both public and private clients, with a primary focus in the Department of Defense (DoD) market.
This position is responsible for the daily supervision, direction, and coordination of assigned construction crews on a project job site to safely produce quality work,
within project requirements, targeted budget, schedule, and in alignment with RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values.
Qualifications: Reads specifications, such as blueprints, to determine construction requirements or to plan procedures.
Consulting with the Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent, estimates material or worker requirements to complete jobs.
Orders or requisitions materials and supplies.
In collaboration with Assistant Superintendent and/or Superintendent, organizes, supervises, coordinates, and schedules the daily activities of field workers and in-house trades.
Assigns work to employees, based on material or worker requirements of specific jobs.
Examines and inspects work progress, equipment, and construction crew activity daily to verify safety, quality-of-work, and to ensure that project requirements are met during every stage of the project, taking appropriate corrective action if project Coordinates work activities with other construction project activities.
Performs labor (up to 49% of time) in one or more trades (e.g.
concrete, framing/carpentry, earthwork,
MEP trades, etc.)
Confers with managerial or technical personnel, other departments, or contractors to resolve problems or to coordinate activities Locates, measures and marks site locations or placement of structures or equipment, using measuring and marking equipment.
Supports RQ's Safety and QC programs.
Assists the QC Manager with executing the process.
Performs other duties as assigned and agreed upon with supervisor.
Education & Experience: A high school diploma or GED is the minimum formal education required for this position.
College courses in construction management, engineering, etc.
preferred.
Two or more years work experience in a Foreman position (e.g., scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control, safety, and production of all phases in construction), over multiple trades (e.g.
concrete, framing/drywall, earthwork and MEP trades) on medium or large projects is required.
Three or more years (or equivalent) field or trade work experience is in the construction industry highly desirable; government, military, or large commercial construction experience preferred.
Work in the design-build industry is preferred.
Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Internet, etc.)
preferred.
Training can be provided.
Specific software literacy (Primavera 3/6, Viewpoint, BIM, Revit) preferred.
Training can be provided.
Pay: $11.00 ph Benefits: 15 days of paid vacation per year, entitled to be taken after completing 2 year's.
Paid leave after 2 years of service of accrued time up to 30 days paid, and an additional 30 days unpaid between contracts (if desired).
Company paid travel between job location and point-of-hire.
