GENERAL DESCRIPTIONOMICRON is a leading manufacturer of primary and secondary test equipment for electric power systems.
The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for managing territorial sales and marketing of OMICRON products and services with emphasis on our primary and secondary products and applications in Mexico.
The ASM will also be supporting technical sales and providing high-level technical support of OMICRON products and services.
The preferred location for this candidate is within Mexico, preferably Mexico City (although this is not a requirement).
This position will report directly to the National Sales Manager, Mexico City.




ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSManage area sales activities of OMICRON products and services in Mexico including customer relationship creation and retention.Manage Sales Representative companies.
Develop, maintain and improve relationships with identified key accounts within designated area including CFE.Participate in business development, market evaluation, sales forecasting and monitoring of customers and leads within the assigned area.Coordinate promotional activities including conferences, user meetings, seminars, local exhibitions & on-site demonstration and post-sale customer training and service of the products.Make recommendations and suggestions for new products, service markets and process improvements.Summarize and report area sales status at Area Sales Managers meetings.Manage the prompt and correct quotation process with the Sales Support staff.Act as customer product training instructor as required.
Communicate routinely with other Area Sales Managers on competitive information, product issues,



market trends and customer perception of OMICRON products and services.Maintain the corporate CRM database with new contact information and routine review of data to keep the information up to date and accurate.Coordinate use of Regional Application Specialists for technical expertise and expert level sales presentations.Utilize OMICRON Sales Process and record all sales activity as required via the CRM system.Provide update status on all job related to activities to the National Sales Manager.
Perform other duties as assigned by the National Sales Manager.
Demonstrate OMICRON test equipment to customers.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Knowledge and experience in developing and maintaining customer relationships at multiple levels in the customer hierarchy (technical, commercial, C-level etc.
)Knowledge of power generation,



transmission and distribution systems and the various apparatus used within these systemsKnowledge of testing methodologies and maintenance practices used to assure a continuous and reliable power systemExcellent written, speech, presentation and negotiating skills requiredAbility to demonstrate products on-site with or without the assistance of applications engineers.Ability to present products, technologies and test methodologies to technicians, engineers, supervisors, managers and executives via telephone, email, visits, exhibits or webinarsReputable business and work ethics and personal characterKnowledge and understanding of the organization and business processes employed by electric power companies, government agencies, manufacturers and industrial consumers of bulk power in the Mexico marketGoal and team oriented – willingness to work collectively with others to achieve corporate,



regional and personal goalsAbility to schedule and plan strategically or react quickly to a changing working sales environmentA solid working knowledge of MS Office – especially Outlook, Excel & PowerPointAble to travel domestically (up to 50%); international travel may be requiredAbility to speak Spanish fluently is required; Proficiency in the English language is strongly preferred.WORK EXPERIENCEAt least 5 years of experience in power systems, especially in the fields of power system protection and high voltage apparatus.At least 5 years of direct sales or sales partner management selling power system equipment, testing equipment, instrumentation or apparatus for the electric power industry preferred.Participation in international, national, regional and local conferences,



exhibits or seminars.Proven record of achieving targets for revenue and product sales.EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSBachelor Degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering or certification of completion of a electronic or electrical technical education is required.
