Role summary
The Production Quality Specialist is responsible for leading all elements of manufacturing quality in their assigned area within the Apodaca plant. For our Traction motor / Blower / UX area, this role will drive resolution of quality problems, ensure compliance with Quality Management System procedures, and lead continuous improvement projects. In short, the Production Quality Specialist will ensure and improve the overall quality of processes and products manufactured in Traction motor / Blower / UX
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.




- Ensure the plant’s production processes are executed per relevant specifications
- Analyze and create 4B for internal customers
- Own process compliance: understand applicable Quality Management System documents, perform quality audits to ensure consistent adherence to procedures and processes, and drive CARs and improvement plans to address nonconformances
- Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
- Lead investigations and analysis of quality problems on site, to eliminate problems at their root cause
- Prevent occurrence of Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ).
- Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.




- Provide leadership as the main quality interface with Manufacturing, Engineering, Services, and other functions
- Lead Manufacturing PPAPs and FAIs for significant process changes
- Perform statistical analysis
- Quality issue resolving through problem solving tools (QRQC, 8D, A3, 5WHY etc.).
- Prepare plan and maintain certification of ISO 9001, AAR and EAC
- Continuously develop product and process knowledge, become a product and process expert
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering.
- 3 years of quality experience.
- Fluent in English.
- Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Experience in quality systems audits ( ISO 9001 )
Desired Characteristics
- Strong customer focus, able to relay and operationalize a genuine sense of urgency
- Demonstrated hands-on technical problem-solving experience




- Experience testing and troubleshooting Locomotive electrical and mechanical systems
- Strong computer and data analysis skills including intermediate Excel
- Ability to influence others and lead cross-functional teams
- Ability to communicate issues effectively at all levels
- Experience with assembly, electrical, test, and welding processes,
- Experience in a Quality, Manufacturing, or Engineering role, with increasing responsibility
- Experience with PPAP or similar part qualification processes
- Statistically literate and familiar with Six Sigma quality concepts and tools
- Knowledge of AAR standards, quality procedures, and audit techniques; certified auditor
