**Title**: Design Engineer
**Primary Location**: Mexico (MX) - Nuevo León JD Shared Svcs-Monterrey
**Function**: Engineering (CA)
**Main Responsibilities**:
- As a Design Engineer for John Deere's Enterprise Technology and Innovation Center, you will work in a cross functional team supporting John Deere Power Systems' products, focusing on Diesel Engine and Exhaust Aftertreatment Components.
- Lead product engineering activities for diesel engines (requirement understanding, concept definition & development, virtual and physical validation, prototype fabrication for implementation in production line and continuous improvement)
- Provide design solutions to achieve goals related to performance, quality, manufacturability, standardization, warranty and cost reduction for current engine models.
- Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting to PVV, manufacturing, quality, production, and supply management teams to ensure product requirements are met.
- Ensure that supplier components and solutions meet engineering requirements.
- Resolve product, factory or warranty issues.
- Manage workflow activities to release parts in system.
- Support and coach less experienced engineers within team.
**What Skills You Need**:
- Experience in product engineering project implementation and complex problem resolution - Minimum 3 years of demonstrated experience.
- Strong knowledge of control & mechatronics engineering (Closed/Open control system, Sensors, Valves, Actuators)
- Experience working with a global supply base for product development.
- Strong communication skills (conduct and lead meetings with a global supply base).
- Proficient use of virtual tools for proof of concept (CREO modeling, CREO assembly, CREO simulate, etc.)
- Proficient use of engineering & design tools (FMEA, GD&T;, 8Ds, Root cause analysis, Six Sigma, etc.)
- Understanding of virtual tool interpretation (FEA, CFD)
- Fluent on English.
**What Makes You Stand Out**:
- Experience with diesel engines.
- Experience in aftertreatment system.
- Experience with engine system diagnostics or similar.
- Proficient Design for Manufacturing and Manufacturing Processes knowledge (welding, metal fab, assembly, plastics, etc.)
**Education**:
- Engineering degree in Mechanical / Mechatronics / Automotive / Aeronautic / Robotics or equivalent.
