**Job responsibilities**
- Engage as a member of the business unit leadership team to understand, discuss, and advise on strategic priorities, concerns and key IT risks.
- Be a part of the Business Technology (BT) leadership team and act in a consultative way to help improve security posture and adherence to security policies and required controls.
- Formulate, articulate,



and align key stakeholders on a risk-based strategy and roadmap to mature the security and compliance posture of the local organization.
- Champion Syneos Health's cybersecurity program, ensuring enterprise objectives and requirements are communicated and understood by local stakeholders
- Work proactively with leadership to ensure security, IT risk and compliance is actively built into organizational objectives and procedures
- Lead regular, timely reporting on the information security status across the business unit and communicate metrics and reporting to the CISO leadership team with a focus on continuous improvement
- Facilitates the identification of high value assets to be monitored by the BT Security Operations.
- Leads information security risk assessments on internal and external Vendors and services.




- Engages with building disaster recovery and business continuity and crisis management plans within the business unit
- Incident response
- Centralizes exception/standards deviation filing and coordination of sign-off in support of the Syneos Health policy exception process
- Reviews local processes and products for policy violation/non-compliance areas
- Provides an escalation path for information security issues, incidents, inquiries and investigations
- Works with BU and Corporate leadership to determine acceptable levels of risk, report on variances, and propose mitigation activities
- Proactively identifies information security deficiencies or opportunities for improvement and facilitate development of pragmatic solutions
- Acquires, develops, and retains a high-performing team to support business objectives




- Engages in opportunities to gain external thought leadership and build relationships to inform strategies and propose solutions
- Leads the team in reviewing and improving current security products/tools.
- Assists with CISO budget planning
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**

**What we're looking for**
- Information technology and cybersecurity experience.
- Pharma or healthcare experience managing clinical technology operations, incident response, security tools, cybersecurity vendors/contractors, and project oversight.
- Manager level experience.
- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and professionally with all levels of management regarding complex employment legal issues.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple priorities and work with various stakeholders.




- Ability to partner with team members to achieve results that make business sense, including identifying opportunities for effective process improvements.
- Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams.
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues and take a business-oriented approach while identifying and balancing risks and providing succinct, accurate and pragmatic advice.
- Exceptional analytical, negotiation, problem-solving, decision-making, and risk assessment skills.
- Independent judgment, attention to detail, a desire to learn, and an ability to take on and prioritize a wide variety of complex matters while meeting tight deadlines.
