**LAM & Mexico DBS DCOO Chief Control Office**
**Purpose of the position**
The role holder will be part of the structure of LAM / Mexico DBS Chief Control Officer to support delivery of risk based, strategic outcomes, including informing and advising on risk and control issues, initiatives and updates that impact LAM countries, supporting the DBS Function Heads to manage the LAM DBS risk profile and designing strong sustainable controls.
**Activites**
- Enforcing robust risk governance and ensuring all stakeholders have visibility of key risks and any remediation activity.
- Partner and advise on setting, communicating and monitoring risk appetite in line with business requirements,
including appropriate support and challenge.
- Conducting high quality and efficient reviews of our control performance.
- Facilitating controls remediation where required.
- Raising awareness and understanding of risks, controls and risk management.
- Continuously improving the control and monitoring of risk, including behaviours.
- Embedding the bank's Risk Management Framework
- Role holder will carry out activities that will include most of the following:
- Promote risk and control decision-making based on quality data and commercial analysis
- Provide specialist risk and control knowledge and insights
- Identify trends to anticipate future developments in the risk and control environment
- Actively challenge poor, inefficient or excessive controls, related tasks and behaviours
- Drive the development and implementation of future-fit risk management frameworks
- Influence and shape the development of regulatory frameworks in collaboration with internal parties
- Promoting desired behaviours and a positive risk culture
- Acting as escalation point for complex issues
- Delivery of Priorities and strategy for DBS Chief Control Office
- Support DBS Management in matters related to Active Risk Management, the whole DBS Governance (papers and committee´s packs, Appropriate Risk Reporting, Issue Management etc.
- Drive a Business Partnering approach to ensure a close understanding of individual business requirements and providing customised strategies that align to overall Group and CCO objectives and actively support individual and business specific needs on an end-to-end basis
- Deliver end-to-end delivery of CCO Services to LAM DBS DCOO stakeholders in accordance with agreed service catalogue & SLAs and which enhance CCO reputation across HSBC.
- Deliver services in accordance with regulatory and internal governance requirements.
- Collaborate across DBS CCO identifying and delivering opportunities to continually transform, reduce complexity and duplication
- Coordination and execution of the DBS/Entity Risk Management Projects
- Ensure personal and cross-business understanding of all policies and procedures relevant to the business.
Identify and address procedural pain points, and automate manual processes in order to drive improved ease of control and risk management within individual teams.
Requirements
**Requiriments**
- Flexible in their style of work, curious and analytical is essential
- Deep knowledge and expertise in Risk Management framework and its applicability, analysis of MI & Reporting, DBS Functions activities, key risks applicable to DBS i.e.
Third party and supplier management, Resilience, Data Management, Regulatory Compliance and FCR, etc.
- Ability to develop trusted adviser status with key Executive stakeholders through SME expertise, industry experience and track record; ability to understand desired Business outcomes across the matrix and ability to translate in to well communicated and clearly articulated strategies
- Leadership in driving change and transformation programmes through a Global organization - both to own teams and structures and jointly with the Business through supporting and delivering changing workplace strategies
- Experience in working in areas of Non-Financial Risk Management, In business risk and control, Risk Management Governance, Operational Risk, Audit, and Risk Stewardship.
- Prior experience of working in a global matrixed organisation is needed.
- Experience in supporting key change management programmes related to Non Financial Risk Management.
- Excellent Spanish & English writing and oral skills are mandatory (Portuguese a plus)
- Desirable certifications: CAMS, IIA, COSO
