The Trade Compliance Classification Analyst plays a critical role in the Levi Strauss & Co.
Supply Chain by properly classifying products according to customs regulations while supporting daily import and export activities and the department's operational goals.
The Trade Compliance Classification Analyst will contribute to LS&Co;'s Supply Chain goals and strategies by supporting smooth and efficient cross border cargo movement so LS&Co.;
can meet its obligations to its customers around the world.
Proper Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications and effective import and export operations will maintain a high standard of customs compliance while also minimizing duty, fees, lead time, and other costs for LS&Co.;
About the Job Conduct data analysis, research, and interpretation to support decision-making.Assist in the development of reports, presentations, and recommendations based on findings.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information, identify trends, and assess performance.Maintain databases, spreadsheets, and other tools to organize and analyze data.Support the implementation of process improvements and efficiency initiatives.Stay updated on industry trends, best practices,
and emerging technologies relevant to the role.Properly assign the HTS code for every applicable product for each required country by researching customs regulations and rulings and collaborating with internal and external teams.Keep supporting evidence for classification decisions and document classification procedures.Conduct seasonal line reviews with the Product Development team.Continuously drive classification accuracy and process efficiency in partnership with the regional trade compliance teams and external providers, such as securing accurate product master data and working with the automation teams to develop an automated classification tool.Conduct and enhance classification audits.Ensure classifications are properly and completely loaded into the system.Apply working knowledge of trade compliance regulations and requirements to support business needs.Support daily operational matters by working closely with LS&Co;'s Logistics and other internal teams, customs brokers, carriers, and 3PLs to resolve trade compliance issues that impact the clearance or movement of goods.Manage post-entry administrative activity.Conduct audits on customs entries for accuracy in valuation, classification, origin, and other criteria and work with designated customs brokers to amend discrepancies.Contribute to the organizational level adoption of trade compliance requirements.Aid LS&Co;'s response to Customs' requests and support preparation for Customs audits as needed.Support new Trade Compliance and Logistics initiatives.Create and update desk procedures related to the role.Receive and provide cross-training from/to other team members.About You Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.5+ years of experience.Experience classifying apparel and accessories for applicable countries.Strong working knowledge and experience of import/export trade regulations and operations.Experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, Logistics, Product Development, and other related fields.SAP and GTM solutions experience.Proficiency in Power BI or Tableau is a plus.Experience overseeing customs brokers' activities to ensure compliance with LS&Co.;
policies and expectations.Ability to evaluate broker and vendor performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.Excellent analytical, organizational,
and problem-solving skills.Works under supervision and guidance, following established procedures and guidelines.
Participates in data analysis projects under supervision.
Assists junior analysts and team members with technical tasks.Communicates effectively within the team and with stakeholders.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather information and assess performance.
Supports the implementation of process improvements.Assists in synthesizing findings and preparing reports and presentations.
Focuses on executing tasks and completing assigned projects.The expected starting salary range for this role is (($xx,xxx- $xx,xxx)) per year.
We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on the location of the role.
