Company DescriptionWe are looking for a Director of Finance to join the opening SLS Playa Mujeres Cancun, All-Inclusive Collection.Ennismore, with its luxury brand SLS, is currently undertaking a magnificent all-inclusive project in the oasis that is Playa Mujeres, just north of Cancun, Mexico.

If you are looking to make your mark as we expand further into Mexico, build an exciting hotel with lots to offer, and work with some of the best and brightest in the lifestyle and luxury hospitality space, this might just be the right fit for you.Job DescriptionUnder the guidance of the General Manager, the Director of Finance is responsible for providing consistent leadership in the financial area of the hotel by supplying management with guidance and training.
You'll be responsible for focusing on the profitability of the business, maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring acceptable levels on internal control, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations,
and safeguarding owners/investors assets.What you'll do…Manage and communicate cash flow related issues which includes the accurate and timely preparation of cash flow statements, management of receivables, payables, cash balances, control mechanisms and timely deposits of all fundsMonitor hotel revenues and expenses and ensure the accurate recording in accordance with the hotel established guidelinesCreate annual budgets and monthly variance analysisMonitor the accurate production of the hotel daily operating reportDirect and/or prepare all financial reports in accordance with requirements meeting various deadlinesInvestigate and critique variances to budget or to prior year and offer practical improvement methodologies to managementMonitor the capital planning process by assisting management with the calculation of return on capital improvements, gathering support and monitoring the bid process,
and ensuring proper upkeep of the property by evaluating scope of work and specificationsComplies with Standard Accounting policies and procedures and internal controls for finance and accounting operationsEnsure hotels' compliance on all regulatory licenses and permits, leases, contracts, legal agreements, and the proper execution of all operational taxesProvide assistance to management in enforcing compliance on all these itemsAnalyze financial data and operations in order to assist and advise management in maintaining the hotels' financial objectives.
Ensure that all balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliation's are reconciled on a timely basisEmbrace a continuous growth environment by actively providing feedback, coaching and supporting the hotel's operational leaderHire, train, supervise and develop Finance team,
including coaching and counselingPartner with Executive Committee on areas of collaboration to assure that property operations are on track and under control at all timesAny other reasonable duties as assigned by the supervisor or managerWe recognize we are in the hospitality industry and that may require us to provide lateral service.
We will on occasion call for each individual in the team to on a routine basis perform various related tasks as needed in the spirit of providing exceptional guest serviceQualificationsWhat we're looking for...College Degree in Business, Hospitality, Accounting/Finance or related field preferredMinimum of eight (8) years of progressive Finance/Accounting management experience in a full service property, all-inclusive, or luxury resortConsiderable skill in math and algebraic equations using percentages.A proficient understanding of Computer systems such as: Opera, Microsoft Word,
Excel, Outlook & HRIS systems .You're a strong team leader, a natural at managing and inspiring others in a way that gets the best out of them.You combine analytical and methodical thinking with high attention to detail and a solution-focused approach.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Fluent in Spanish and English.You have a solid understanding of local legal compliance requirements.You make people feel good - your team, guests and colleagues alike.
