Job Purpose:
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Legal Counsel, you will provide legal advice to corporate management on legal matters in alignment with Mexico's Legal Head for DHL Global Forwarding. A Legal Counsel Associate ensures that business practices, policies, and agreements meet regulatory requirements to prevent the organization from litigation. You will research, interpret, and prepare legal and business communication documents and contracts, and maintain official records, notices, and actions as required by international, federal, state,
and local regulations.
Your tasks:
1. Support the requirements of DHL Corporate Guidelines in reviewing contracts with our customers.
2. Provide technically accurate and commercial legal advice.
3. Research, draft memoranda, and prepare requested briefings and findings for Sr. Counsel/Board.
4. Advise on aspects of law and regulation applicable to the business unit.
5. Liaise with external counsel and provide efficiencies in the briefing of counsel and the interpretation of their advice.
6. Assist in sourcing, soliciting, and collaborating with external legal counsels.
7. Contribute to research, discover, and draft advice/response and opinion to Sr. Counsel for the assigned subject matter.
8. Contract review and negotiation in line with instructions issued from divisional units assigned.

Manage the external law firms liaison process to conclude transactions.
10. Provide general advice on legal disputes/litigation processes.
11. Support the “Demand Lawyer” dedicated Business Unit process.
12. Provide global and specialized advice in specific areas of law including Finance, Competition/Antitrust, Intellectual Property, Airfreight, Oceanfreight, Information Technology, Procurement, Data Protection, Employment & Labor Law.
13. Demonstrate the ability to influence decisions/actions through the provision of value-added inputs into the organization’s business processes.
14. Contribute to developing a culture of quality, service excellence, flexibility, and cost consciousness.
15. Develop and proactively contribute to IKOs/Group KPIs with remote team members and monitor individual performance (where appropriate).

Your profile:
1. Knowledge of fundamental law concepts, practices, and procedures of general law practice or a particular field of specialization.
2. Expertise in the Global Forwarding segment.
3. Advanced English skills (Writing and Speaking).
4. Highly organized.
5. Effective communicator.
6. Competent and experienced in facilitating meetings or workshops and presenting to groups.
7. Energetic and proactive with a customer-focused approach.
8. Flexible team player.
9. LL.B. or equivalent.
