Our team is focused on building a personalized, curated, and seamless music experience. We want to help our customers discover up-and-coming artists, while also having access to their favorite established musicians. We build systems that are distributed on a large scale, spanning our music apps, web player, and voice-forward audio engagement on mobile and Amazon Echo devices, powered by Alexa to support our customer base. Amazon Music offerings are available in countries around the world, and our applications support our mission of delivering music to customers in new and exciting ways that enhance their day-to-day lives.
You are a talented, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic Software Development Manager who is excited about big challenges, big data, personalization, and machine learning. You will contribute your creative ideas and energy to improving the customer experience by leaps and bounds. Duties include hiring, developing,
and managing a team of high-performing engineers who research, design, and implement software algorithms which test their best ideas against Amazon's legion of music customers. You will leverage your own strengths and those of your team to make Amazon Music more personalized and the best part of each customers' day.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience developing and executing a software roadmap
- Experience managing platforms or infrastructure software systems
- Experience leading highly-skilled software engineering teams
- Experience forming teams and recruiting software engineers
- Experience developing careers with highly-skilled software engineering teams
- Experience with Machine Learning (Classification,
Collaborative Filtering)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A love of music!
