What are we looking for?
We are looking for our next Sr. R&D; Innovation & Quality Manager who will lead and drive the following:
1. Product innovation projects and platforms for the organization. Key categories will include food and beverages products. The duties in this position are expected to evolve over time as a result of the company’s growth and expansion into new technologies and categories.
2. Design, implement and manage the Quality Strategy for sites in Mexico and LATAM to ensure the Quality of the products and process complying with the Policies, requirements and regulations established by the Company and the countries in which it operates.
Main obligations and responsibilities
R&D;
1.
Quickly develop understanding of all current products and formulations.
2. Provide leadership in the areas of Food Science and R&D.;
3. Design new products based on targeted flavor profile, texture, color, shelf life and nutritional content while maintaining adherence to government and industry standards.
4. Collaborate with ingredient vendors to obtain best product results and costs (brief suppliers and follow up on their progress).
5. Lead pilot and commercial scale up trials.
6. Maintain and organize formulation records.
7. Manage and implement cost savings projects and partner with procurement team to define and evaluate areas of cost savings opportunities.
8. Support logistics on the verification of ingredients in inventory for maturity or stability for processing and finished products for safety, quality, and nutritional value.
9. Explore new global and regional consumer trends to propose new categories and products to the Business.
10. Support in regulatory matters, understanding the needs of different countries and ensuring that Innovations meet these requirements.
Quality
1.
Guarantee compliance with the Quality Policy to provide safe products within specifications, focusing on the needs and compliance with the standards of our clients and regulatory authorities.
2. The Quality Manager leads the Quality Strategy defined, HACCP and SQF Process of the plant, to ensure that the Safety food and Quality requirements of the process and the product are met through monitoring of the GMP's, the HACCP plan, the Quality plan, and the Prerequisite Program.
3. Keep staff and senior management informed about Quality issues or trends, in addition to ensuring the communication of relevant information to functional units, external suppliers and contractors; all with the purpose of supporting the correct functioning of the company in terms of Quality.
Work experience & Education.
1.
Experience in R&D; as Senior Leader with more than 10 Years of Experience in Food Industry. (Must)
2. Experience in Quality as Senior Leader in Food Industry. (Desirable)
3. B.S. in Food Science.
4. Chemical or Food Engineer
5. Regulatory Experience will be a Plus
Core competencies.
1. Leadership with strong abilities of negotiation either internal and external.
2. Drive for results.
3. Fluent in English.
