**Job Description: Accounting Manager**
**Role summary**:
The Accounting Manager provides administrative, financial, and accounting support to the Sony Pictures Television Latin America Finance, Media Networks, Theatrical and Production Departments through financial analysis, reconciliation of financial operations, review of processes and controls.
Supervise local RTR staff and maintain oversight of CapGemini support.
This individual reports directly to the VP, GFO in Miami and works closely with CapGemini and regional finance teams.
**Core Responsibilities**:
- Accounting for Media Networks, Theatrical and Productions: Oversee financial reporting and account analysis reconciliations.
Assist with Accounting and Tax issues related primarily to Mexico but as needed for Miami and regional offices.
Other duties as required based on business needs.
- Month End Close process: Supervise the monthly close process by reviewing the general ledger for Mexico businesses, including Trial Balance Analysis and month end reports.
Prepare, park or post monthly journal entries as well as provide corresponding source documentation to record revenue, expenses and eliminations as needed.
- Business Reporting: Manage the preparation of local and Home Office reports as needed.
Compare actual monthly reporting to budgets/forecasts.
- Statutory and Tax Reporting: Manage gathering of data for the preparation of all Statutory and Tax reporting.
Review reports prepared by CG and support staff.
Liaison with outside consultants.
- Territory Reporting and Controllership: Supervise the preparation of internal controls and supporting documentation to external auditors.
- Other: Assist in the preparation reviews and analysis of the local GFO RTR budgets, forecast & MRP.
Ad-hoc reporting as needed for Finance and operations team.
Supervise local staff and oversee support from CapGemini.
**Preferred Education**:
- BA or BS degree in accounting or related area.
**Knowledge**:
- Languages: Advanced / Fluent in English.
- Advanced computer knowledge, including Excel and SAP
- strong accounting knowledge
**Requirements**:
- 3-5 years of previous Accounting or Financial Analysis experience including monthly close and statutory and tax reporting,
- 3 + years - Participate or advise management
- Entertainment industry experience is a plus
**Skills**:
