Job Summary:
- The LAM Head of Investigations Controls Management (ICM) reports to the LAM Head of Investigations and works alongside FC Investigations Management team to ensure a strong control environment across the Investigations verticals, including but not limited to the Level 1 and Level 2 controls reported under the Bank’s control framework. The role holder will further ensure a robust governance framework exists to provide LOBs, Risk Stewards and other Compliance stakeholders with sufficient oversight over the performance of the function. As well as delivery and support on the strategy and direction set out for the function by senior leadership.
- Main Responsabilities:
- Main activities
- Work closely with FC Investigations Management to recommend, agree and then oversee the deliverable of an actionable control management framework
- Be responsible for the management and execution of the FC Investigations people, learning and global strategies.
- Manage and enhance a globally consistent governance framework, co-chairing RIPOC. With added support to country Investigations teams in LAM and provide an escalation route to regional and global Investigations forums.
- Operate strong access control to the Investigations domains within UCM, through continuing to build out the control framework to ensure the integrity of data within the case management workflow system.
- The role will require the job holder to co-ordinate and drive resolution of; risk and issue management; Audit, Assurance and Skilled Person/Independent Consultant review and findings; and deliver other appropriate management support required by the Regional Head of Investigations.
- Lead on the read across process of thematic findings across all regions,
escalating in a timely manner to management and put in place remedial activity on any globally consistent items.
- The role will also require the job holder to co-ordinate internal programme related activities for Investigations and manage the contribution to Compliance Transformation programmes.
- Establish a highly effective offshore service centre to provide administrative support to the Investigations function in LAM
- The role holder will coordinate Internal and External engagement activity relevant for Investigations
- The role will also require the job holder oversight activities over the Customer Selection and Exit Management (CSEM) by providing advice, guidance and challenge relating to these risk activities, support ensuring the effectiveness of financial crime risk management as well as through Reporting and MI, risks and issue management,
ant to the attention of relevant Risk Management and Governance meetings.
- Ensure that the FCI control environment remains effective
Requirements
Experience
- Experience working in a financial services institution, understanding of relevant compliance and risk controls.
- Experience operating in a leadership role, influencing and motivating staff to perform well and raise standards.
- Ability to support decisions with sound reasoning.
- Strong analytical, organizational and delivery skills, resourceful, creative and adept at solving complex issues
- Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to quickly build and maintain effective relationships - functional and geographical
- Highly motivated and autonomous with a continuous improvement mind set and ability work under pressure to tight deadlines
- Awareness of regulatory and in-house operating environment and potential impact upon the function
- Ability to lead difficult conversations and reach a decision based on different points of view.
