THE TEAM As a Software Developer Engineer in Test II for the Sales Planning team, you will be joining a remote, cross-functional team of designers, product managers, and software engineers dedicated to revolutionizing how sales organizations execute go-to-market strategies for unparalleled success.




You will work on enhancing a rapidly growing modern SaaS product: a single-page web application built in React, connecting via GraphQL to a serverless backend deployed to AWS.

WHAT YOU'LL DO Lead technical test automation efforts and coach non-technical team members.Drive the functional and non-functional test automation in various projects/programs.Manage project test activities and align them with internal Quality Engineering practices.Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure high-quality,



testable code.Provide support for Roadmap items and Deployment Test Automation efforts.WHAT YOU BRING Technical Skills Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience.Experience working with multiple test automation tools and frameworks such as Cucumber, Pytest, Playwright, Locust, or any other Python framework.Proven ability in developing internal tools.Solid understanding of CI/CD environments, containerization, test infrastructure, and platforms.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to understand and present technical and non-technical data effectively.
B2 level English or higher is required.Nice to haves: Intermediate SQL skills, including the ability to create complex SQL queries on large datasets with complex data models.Performance load testing experience, including analyzing test results, resource monitoring,



and interpretation skills.Experience with cloud-based and local databases (e.g., AWS RDS, Oracle, Postgres).Collaboration and Communication: CEFR B2 level English proficiency or higher is required.Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.FIRST 30 DAYS: GETTING STARTED Onboarding and Familiarization: Gain a comprehensive understanding of Varicent's Sales Planning software and the company's culture, mission, and goals.Familiarize yourself with the current testing infrastructure, tools, frameworks, and processes in place.Review ongoing projects and understand testing requirements and priorities.Set up your development and testing environment, ensuring all necessary tools, accounts, and access permissions are in place.Review and analyze the existing automated test cases, scripts, and frameworks to identify potential enhancements.Build Relationships and Network:



Meet the Quality Engineering, Development, and Product teams to understand product features, functionality, and expected testing standards.Collaborate with team members to align on expectations, timelines, and key deliverables.Early Contributions: Conduct initial code reviews and offer constructive feedback during team discussions.Contribute to small testing efforts such as debugging or updating existing automation scripts to get hands-on experience with the product.FIRST 60 DAYS: BUILDING MOMENTUM Start leading technical test automation initiatives within your assigned project/program.Implement improvements or fixes in existing automation frameworks to optimize test efficiency.Expand Test Coverage:



Write and execute new functional and non-functional automated test scripts to cover untested or under-tested areas of the software.Collaborate with other engineers to identify high-priority scenarios and ensure their automation.Support CI/CD Initiatives: Contribute to Continuous Integration and Deployment pipelines to seamlessly integrate, test, and deploy new features with minimal disruptions.Work closely with DevOps and QA teams to resolve dependencies in test infrastructure or environments.Documentation & Communication: Document any newly introduced test automation processes, guidelines, or best practices to standardize workflows.Communicate progress, challenges, and successes during team meetings or cross-functional updates.FIRST 90 DAYS AND BEYOND: HITTING YOUR STRIDE Technical Ownership and Coaching: Take ownership of quality assurance and automation-related tasks across multiple projects.Mentor non-technical team members in automating routine QA processes,



upskilling them on test tool usage or scripting basics.Develop Tools: Build internal tools that enhance test capabilities or streamline everyday quality engineering operations (e.g., performance monitoring dashboards, debugging utilities, etc.
).Performance Testing Focus: Implement and analyze performance and load tests to identify critical bottlenecks in system performance.Provide recommendations and solutions for optimization based on performance metrics.Collaboration and Long-Term Strategies: Work closely with leaders to align automation efforts with product roadmaps and future development goals.Proactively identify tools or platforms that can further enhance the effectiveness and scalability of tests.Continuous Improvement and Standardization: Establish a baseline for automation coverage and test effectiveness,



and present plans for ongoing improvements.Drive a culture of quality and continuous integration within the team, ensuring long-term adoption of best practices.Note Candidates selected for this position will be hired by Varicent's designated professional employer organization.
