We are looking for a **Research Analyst** to join Wood Mackenzie's Power and Renewables team in **Mexico City.
** The Power and Renewables research team provides integrated subscription,



research and advisory services to inform and support our client's commercial and strategic decisions in the complex and rapidly changing electric power industry.
Combining our deep knowledge of solar, wind, storage, and grid technologies with our global power and fuels modelling and analytical capabilities, Wood Mackenzie can provide data and insight spanning supply chain, technology costs, policy and market issues, fundamentals-based outlooks, price forecasting, asset valuation, and commodity market issues.
The Research Analyst will contribute to delivering long-term outlooks for the Mexican power market.
The outlooks are based on an analysis of the dynamics impacting the power and renewables sector in the country.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team and make a major contribution to the energy transition solution.




The Research Analyst will lead the development and operation of models, databases and reports for the Mexican power market.
These responsibilities will include collecting market information/intelligence, analyzing data to generate market insights and building analytical models to create market forecasts.
The analyst will also be a point of contact between Wood Mackenzie and industry stakeholders and clients in the coverage area.
**About you and how you can excel in this role**

Wood Mackenzie Power & Renewables promotes analysts as industry experts.
As such, analysts must be thoughtful, intellectually curious, creative and comfortable presenting to public audiences and interacting with small and large groups of executives.
You have an analytical mindset and an eye for detail, which has been proven in your work experience to date.




Therefore, you are comfortable taking complex, disparate ideas and distilling them into simple, provocative concepts.
You have a minimum of 2 years of industry experience in the power sector and hence knowledge of the structure of wholesale power markets and its operation.
You are a natural self-starter who can work independently and generate the ideas you want to share by leveraging and expanding your industry network.
You are comfortable disrupting your routine as you will be constantly looking to learn and provide in-depth analysis of industry trends and innovative market dynamics.
You feel comfortable or are highly familiar with the following key programming skills & software: SQL Server, Excel VBA, Phyton, Power BI, R, Aurora or PLEXOS and Power Query.
Furthermore, you have experience working with large databases,



creating and improving large models and automating processes.
**Main Responsibilities**
- Contribute to market analysis on Wood Mackenzie's long-term Mexican power outlooks.
- Own the development and improvement of Wood Mackenzie's proprietary analytical models that underpin the market coverage.
- Develop and maintain forecast models and data sets across verticals within the Power & Renewables verticals.
Collaborate with other analysts globally to leverage best practices across the organization.
- Provide high-quality client service to research subscribers through responding to inquiries, one-on-one conversations, and special events.
- Collaborate with peers across Wood Mackenzie
