The Technical Program Manager (TPM) develops and maintains all technical aspects of customer projects following the Gates Program Management Process. The TPM will support Account Sales Managers and Application Engineers with customer communication, new business acquisition, technical review presentations, new product introduction, and bringing awarded programs to production. The TPM will also support ongoing production programs with engineering changes and other related activities on an ongoing basis. This is a highly visible role interfacing with key customers and multiple internal functions to execute new business and build customer relationships.
**Education and Experience**
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, related technical discipline ,or demonstrated experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant professional experience with at least 3 years working with large OEM customers in a Program Management or Application Engineering role. Experience in Automotive, Heavy Truck, Agriculture, Construction markets preferred.
- Experience leading or being part of a team launching new business or bringing new products to market.
**REQUIRED SKILLS**:
- Ability to launch projects using a disciplined approach. Must be able to develop a project timeline with key deliverables and follow through to make sure they are achieved.
- Ability to escalate to management when appropriate.
- Experience with and able to utilize available software tools to manage all phases of a project.
- Proven to deliver projects on time, on cost, while meeting internal and external requirements.
- Utilizes industry standard program management techniques and tools such as timing plans, open issue logs, TGR/TGW, 8D problem solving,
and other methods to keep projects on track.
- Ability to communicate to all stakeholders to ensure deliverables are being achieved.
- Lead Gate Review meetings with management showing where projects are on track or where support is necessary.
- Determine risk factors for each project to ensure necessary resources are being allocated.
- Able to build customer relationships through strong communication and performance.
- Able to build strong internal relationships with key functions such as sales, operations, engineering, quality, finance.
- Strong oral, written, and presentation skills. Must be self-driven with strong organization skills.
