Global Trade Specialist
Job Description:
The Global Trade Specialist will oversee the management and compliance of temporary import inventories, ensuring full adherence to Mexican customs regulations. This position is also responsible for maintaining the necessary government certifications and programs, such as IMMEX, PROSEC, and VAT certification.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with C-TPAT, promoting and maintaining compliance across all departments.
- Manage import and export processes, ensuring all operations are conducted in accordance with established protocols and legal standards.
- Oversee and coordinate the logistics of receiving and shipping goods, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
- Ensure full compliance with Mexican customs regulations, monitor the customs clearance process, and resolve any arising issues.
- Promote and maintain IMMEX and VAT certifications, ensuring all related documentation and processes are up to date and compliant with regulations.
- Verify the accuracy of data in Annex 24, including interfaces, operation reports, bill of materials (BOMs), product values, and costs.
- Reconcile inventory between Annex 24 and ERP systems, resolving discrepancies related to cycle counts, receiving and shipping discrepancies, inventory adjustments, and waste.
- Meet performance objectives and targets related to customs operations and IMMEX compliance.
- Assist with customs audits and support the company in meeting internal and external government requirements.
- Oversee the reconciliation of fixed asset inventories related to import records.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of all trade compliance reports, including Commercial Obligation Reports (RTO).
- Participate in and drive continuous improvement initiatives related to trade, customs, and logistics operations.
- Collaborate in optimizing customs and logistics costs, promoting efficiency throughout the supply chain.
Requirements:
- University degree in International Business, Business Administration, Administrative Engineering, or a related field.
- Bilingual: Fluent in Spanish and English (written and spoken).
- Valid VISA and Passport.
- 2 years of experience in a similar position or in global trade, import/export operations, or customs compliance.
- Knowledge of Customs Compliance
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Annex 24 System experience.
- Understanding of VAT certification requirements and processes.
- Experience with transactions and data management in ERP systems, particularly with inventory reconciliation. Preferably EPICOR.
- Knowledge of C-TPAT and AEO compliance protocols.
- Experience assisting or conducting internal and external audits related to trade compliance.
- Deep knowledge of Mexican customs regulations and international trade agreements.
- Ability to identify problems, analyze root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
