**The Role**:
This position takes ownership and accountability to work with Project Managers with duties that include the development, implementation, and management of project estimates, schedules, document control and project performance standards.
This position will be accountable for establishing appropriate (fit for purpose) levels of project controls to ensure projects are completed on time and on or under budget, providing direction for planning, scheduling and estimating the scope of work for individual projects, and managing the performance of the resources.
This position also includes reviewing projects and financial trends ensuring uniform tracking, analysis, and reporting.
Additional accountabilities include providing management with project health summary, reports arranging audit oversight,
and utilizing and developing tools to support the consistent management of the projects.
This position requires strong leadership capability teamed with an in-depth knowledge of project controls, high degree of technically skilled experience, and proven ability to develop and implement policies that support project controls objectives.
**Responsibilities**:
- Work under the direction of the Project Manager and/or Project Controls Manager to support the planning, coordination, and evaluation of project financial reporting.
- Support Project Controls team: assess and provide recommendations to resolve schedule, scope changes or delays to the Project Team and Executive Management
- Facilitate change management processes to ensure changes are processed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Participate in development of project estimates, budgets, forecasts, estimates to complete, and cost trends.
- Develops, maintains, and monitors performance baselines, including the change control process.
- Develop and maintain MS Project or Primavera P6 schedules to include full loading of resource requirements and integration with other company systems.
- Monitor remaining project scope and needed resources to develop accurate Estimate to Complete.
- Conduct project briefings and prepare reports to reflect program/project status, cost and schedule trends, funding, and project uncertainties.
- Measure project performance, cost tracking and reporting standards and processes across all projects
- Work cross-functionally to ensure that project control standards are communicated and followed.
Ensure the development of project controls tools,
policies and procedures incorporate all areas of concern and done as a collaborative effort.
- Perform reviews of baseline and periodic schedule updates for compliance with contractual agreements.
- Track, monitor, and control costs, monitors the job cost report against key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Perform additional assignments per management's direction.
- Bachelor´s degree in engineering (or equivalent) preferred.
- + 10 years of experience in design engineering or the construction industry with a minimum of 5 years in project estimating and scheduling.
- Knowledgeable of planning and scheduling concepts and principles including effects on Earn Value, using MS Project and Primavera P6 software.
- Experience in implementing, and streamlining project controls systems /methodologies as well as Integrating project management and accounting systems.
- PMP certification is desirable.
- Possess strong critical thinking, problem solving, customer service and interaction skills.
- Possess strong organizational and administration skills.
- Be able to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office and Power BI.
- Have strong attention to detail and organization skills.
- Be able to represent the company in a professional and positive manner.
- Be fluent in English and Spanish.
**Work Environment**:
You will be working in Knight Piesold's office in the Polanco district of Mexico City with a small team of local and foreign engineers.
The position involves frequent interaction with other offices throughout the world.
