Responsibilities and Requirements:

Plans, directs, and manages the strategic operations of a computer operations department.
Establishes department policies and procedures.
Leads and directs the work of others.

Gather and analyze data, make reports, prepare plans and recommendations. Work involves accuracy and ability to make decisions within the limits of general policies and procedures.

Responsible for directing and prioritizing work, leading performance and providing guidance / coaching to team members.
Leads the culture within their team, holds themselves and others accountable for demonstrating GMs values and cultural behaviors.
**Additional Job Description**
- Planning, directing, and coordinating activities pertaining to information technology and regional objectives
- Provide an IT point of contact in the region in support of manufacturing operations, including support for the deployment of competitive manufacturing strategies
- The point of communications for GITSO regional activities and an escalation point of contact for IT issues at the plants in their region
- Also acts as a point of escalation for subordinate employees as well as managers and supervisors
People Care
- Ensure business goals are accomplished and in-line with General Motors Information Technology (GMIT) objectives
- Conduct effective performance evaluations as per the GM Commitment and Accountability Partnership (CAP) process and provide annual/semi-annual performance feedback to team members
- Coach leaders in his region on GM CAP and organizational goals
- Ensure compliance with GM health and safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe workplace; understand country-specific policies as needed
- Be familiar with global HR contacts and directives. Engage HR and leaders for country-specific direction as appropriate
Operations
- Coach the region's site IT Managers and vendors to ensure local and global IT operational related documentation is accurate and kept up-to-date at all times
- Escalate outage communications within the leadership chain as required. Mentor site leadership and technical teams to manage incidents to resolution
- Perform follow-up communication for root cause analysis with global/regional/local Support Groups and Business Managers. Coordinate the problem management for sites in the region
- Ensure Critical Incident Closure Process (CICP) tasks are identified for the Region, ensuring input into the global process to prevent recurrence of incidents
- Oversee change management for sites in the region, ensuring sites comply with GM processes and reduce impact to the production environment by change related incidents, while maintaining compliance to IT standards and security directives
- Ensure sites are maintaining General Motors Information Technology (GMIT) hardware and software asset accuracy
- Participate in project reviews with site IT personnel, Innovation teams, and other IT personnel to ensure adherence to project management guidelines and GM IT quality standards
- Ensure performance to established milestones and metrics for installation, test, training, user acceptance, and ongoing operations, including IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
- Coach site personnel on project management activities as needed
- Lead projects for the Region or GITSO-level as required by the GITSO Director

- Build an effective working relationship with relevant local, regional, and global IT Operations teams, Technical Architects, and production business users and leadership
