As Sr Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating technical communication with suppliers as a link between the Purchasing, Quality, and Engineering departments to address issues related to Supplier quality. Manage with these departments the necessary quality metrics, Supplier Plan Improvements, SCAR's (Requirement of Corrective Actions of Suppliers), and audits with suppliers that require to improve quality levels, provide RMA's (Material Return Authorization), material correction and improve the overall Quality performance with Resideo.
**JOB DUTIES**:
Support in Component Analysis and Follow-up of actions when necessary to support the Manufacturing and Quality team
Manage vendor corrective actions
Implement contingency actions with the Supplier Base
Identify technical problems with suppliers and implement corrective actions
Evaluate supplier systems and conduct gap analysis where required
Follow-up with suppliers, Engineering and Commodity Managers as required
Participation in the evaluation and feedback of reworked parts
Support in the disposition of the rejected parts.
Monitor supplier quality performance and give feedback to suppliers.
Supplier audits to support production needs in accordance with the Resideo Quality System
Drive Supplier Evaluation Audits of new suppliers
Responsible for the Part approval process
Participate in Kaizen events, conduct and document continuous improvement (CI) projects.
Prepare and present metrics associated with quality trends and related improvements within the supply base
Evaluate supplier capability based on 6 Sigma methodologies
Train associates, suppliers, and contract personnel in Six Sigma techniques, Manufacturing Process Control, variation reduction, etc
Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
Have wide-ranging experience, use professional concepts and company objectives, internal and external contacts to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways
Provide technical insight to analyze risks and opportunities
**YOU MUST HAVE**:
Bachelor's degree (Electrotonic, Mechatronic or Electromechanical preferably)
Minimum 7 years of experience in Supplier Quality or related activities
Fluent in English
No travel restrictions
Work well under pressure
**WE VALUE**:
A Master's degree is a plus
Large project management experience
Current ASQ CQA or CQE certification is highly desirable, as is a RAB auditor accreditation
Experience using Six Sigma techniques and Green belt certification
Comprehensive knowledge of advanced Quality engineering practices
A recognized authority in the area of expertise and or products with wide versatility of experience and capability
Significant experience with quality assurance processes
A high level of interpersonal skills is required to handle difficult situations as well as diffuse interpersonal conflict effectively
Self-motivated and able to get results with mínimal supervision and oversight
Hands-on experience with quality assurance processes
Experience in leading teams focused on problem-solving and driving supplier improvements
Good organizational and project management skills
Be able to work in an office and production floor environment.
