This position has ownership of demand planning activities for our largest and most strategic Product Categories and is responsible for ensuring the demand planning process delivers a reliable forecast as a key input to the supply planning system.
**He/she will focus on**:
- Working with Sales, Marketing, Supply Planning and Finance teams in the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP;) process to assure alignment in between the forecast and financial plans
- Identifying quantified risks within the demand plan, reviewing gaps with Brand and Analytics teams and developing appropriate countermeasures for resolution
- Manage product launch projects according to the agreed strategy,
ensuring product availability for the launch as well as support the implementation of life cycle projects
- Developing and monitoring process metrics to drive process conformance, problem solving and improvement
- Serving as the single point of contact for facilitation between Demand Planning, Brand, and Strategic Supply Chain team
Position will be based in Mexico planning Mexico Modern Trade and Caribbean businesses
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform daily analysis on business trends (actual sales, sales forecast, forecast consumption, etc.) and act proactively with all involved stakeholders in order to avoid backorders or overstock.
- Lead monthly S&OP; Process (Sales and Operation Planning) to achieve a consensus demand plan working with sales, trade marketing and customer contact by performing slow movers, forecast deviations, overstock analysis among others
- Manage all aspects related to development and refinement the 18-month, baseline demand plan by item for the assigned strategic accounts, channel groups, or regional sales markets
- Work with the local Sales team to review the current/revised demand plan and to assure that promotional volumes and customer placement changes are integrated into the plan
- Monitor and adjust the demand plan using analytical and statistical tools, intelligence gathering, and collaboration
- Prepare and present the demand plan changes, performance results, and future plans at the S&OP; Demand Agreement Meeting
- Implement product launches projects according to the defined strategy
- Establish a close interaction and clear communication with all partners regarding impact of demand changes and promotional or placement events to assure timely visibility and supply execution
- Provide data and support the development of the local financial reconciliation process throughout the alignment of the Demand Plan versus the Sales Estimate prior to the monthly Billing Meeting
- Track KPI’s projections and trends taking necessary actions in order to meet established targets
- Monitor that activities and timelines adhere to the agreed baseline ensuring the timely escalation of potential issues or deviation
- Collaborate with the local and global Supply Planning teams to communicate the impact of demand changes and promotional or placement events to assure timely visibility and supply execution.
- Ensure that all systems set up are loaded correctly and continuously updated
OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contribute to the success of the overall business by representing supply chain interests in cross-functional project teams to implement changes to business processes
- Operate as a strategic thought leader/change agent working collaboratively with the supply chain teams on priority initiatives that optimize service, inventory and cost for the total value chain
- Identifies opportunities for improvement, makes constructive suggestions for change and drive for results
LI-MF1
- College degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Management or related technical field.
- 3-4 years of experience preferred which includes:
- Experience across multiple aspects of the supply chain with previous roles in inventory management, manufacturing planning and/or forecasting.
- Advanced knowledge of statistical modeling and demand systems (e.g. JDA, Logility, etc.)
- Direct interaction with customers.
- Expertise in data acquisition, spreadsheet/database development and analysis.
- Ability to:
- Process large amounts of data and deliver a concise recommendation.
- Influence others and drive cross-functional alignment.
- Communicate at various organizational levels and back-up thoughts with facts.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external business partners.
- Work effectively in a constantly changing, fast paced team environment.
- Manage your own schedule and exhibit flexibility to support multiple projects while meeting all deadlines.
- SAP APO or Power BI experience is a plus
- Strong communication (written, verbal and presentation) and organizational skills.
- Strong results orientation and work ethic; able to work independently.
- Intermediate English and Fluent Spanish
