THE ROLE:
MSE Engineer collaborates on tasks as part of a larger development effort to develop system models of features using corporate modeling techniques to ensure performance to spec.
MSE Engineer is a key role in the first stages of Feature development, ensuring a high quality design supported by virtual verification methods.
MSE Engineer is a Team Leader that coordinates people to ensure the delivery
YOUR IMPACT:
Participation in process and tool reviews to identify appropriate industry standard SysML and MBD development practices to support feature modeling in the following areas:
- Capturing and documenting business, feature development and testing requirements
- Translating and architecting feature requirements into executable system designs
- Developing interfaces between objects/classes
- Specifying system level requirements
- Use auto-coding techniques to produce hardware agnostic embedded target code
Ensure MBD systems align with production launch objectives
Interface with Core Feature Owners and external development partners to communicate and coordinate modeling process
Ensure that forward Model teams have the necessary tools, skills and resources to deliver new features.
Early validation of Feature proposal and re-design as needed.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
BS in Automotive/Mechanical/Electric/Electronics/Mechatronics Engineering required
Experience in Ford Features Model Development, Verification and Validation, Software Development and Release Processes
Excellent oral and written communication
+1 years of experience in the automotive industry in electronics.
Ford processes and technical knowledge of Electronic modules, including design, attributes, assembly.
Excellent presentation skills
Organization skills to handle and prioritize competing priorities.
- Ability to translate business requirements into features and user stories
- Familiarity with electrical architectures, electrical systems
- Technical understanding of prototype engineering and embedded system architectures
- Concepts: CAN, Vehicle Diagnostics Protocol (UDS), Test driven development (TDD)
- Experience with SysML, UML, UPDM, and other modeling languages
- Experience with modeling tools such as Enterprise Architect, MagicDraw, Rhapsody System and/or Software editions, MATLAB, or SIMULINK
- Experience in C-Code Generation and implementation
- Knowledge of vehicle components functions
- Able to work flexibly across multiple disciplines.
- Able to simultaneously work on multiple projects while independently managing their time
- Able to develop new expertise as needed.
Possess the character and interpersonal skills required to serve as a trusted advisor
