THE ROLE:
The Model e "Vehicle Embedded Software & Connectivity Quality" team is looking for a data engineer that will work with a team of engineers to manage connected vehicle data projects in support of corporate initiatives.
The engineer will lead and manage "Shot Clock" potential issues, develop Connected Vehicle data solutions, and work with the engineering teams on use of data for problem solving.
We are looking for people who have a passion for growing their skills, tackling exciting work, and excel at problem solving.
YOUR IMPACT:
- Work with PD teams to extract, summarize, and analyze Connected Vehicle data to further understand and problem solve potential issues
- Project management of identified Shot Clock quality issues with the engineering teams
- Manage JIRA Shot Clock projects and reporting to support 30 day target to issue identification to resolution
- Promote and use Agile Data Collection methods (RDR, PARSED and CARMON) in support engineering problem solving and data-driven decisions
- Enhance the use of fixed data (e.g., battery SOC data, door ajar, warning lights, etc.)
through the ideation and development of new tools for the identification of potential concerns
- Build strong and trusting relationships with business partners across organizations
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, ability to engage with upper management, peers, and subordinates
- High level of initiative
- Proven effective organizational, planning, and time leadership skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple teams and projects
- Ability to consistently perform at a high level of technical competence, showing composure and decisiveness under pressure
- Good interpersonal, written,
and oral communication skills
- Ability to take complex problems and break them down to create and implement action plan
- Ability to communicate findings to make data analysis actionable and understandable by business partners
- **Preferred Qualifications**:
- Proficient with JIRA
- 1+ years of experience in Data Analytics
- Ability to understand how to ingest large data sets from a variety of sources (SQL, Python, Java, Hadoop, Alteryx, QlikSense, etc)
- Ability to write SQL queries needed to query & analyze data
- Expertise to manipulate data to form unified data sets for analysis
- Strong visualizations skills (understanding of appropriate visualization techniques based on the data set)
- Knowledge of data management
