Summary: Country Manager,
Mexico The Country Manager will be responsible for overseeing all operations, business development, and strategic planning for the transportation and logistics activities within Mexico.
The Country Manager will guide staff; proactively seek out ways to improve and streamline operations; and develop, implement, and ensure compliance with corporate policies.
This role requires a dynamic leader with a deep understanding of the logistics industry, excellent managerial skills, and the ability to drive growth and efficiency.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages one or more subordinate supervisor(s) who supervise a total of two or more employees in Sales and Operations and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the branch.
As a member of the management team, this position is responsible for establishing and maintaining a work environment focused on quality and that fosters learning, respect, open communication, collaboration, integration, and teamwork.
Duties and Responsibilities: Operational Management: Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency, productivity,
and profitability.Implement and maintain operational procedures and policies.Monitor and manage logistics operations, including warehousing, transportation, and distribution.Negotiate with airline partners and ocean carriers with respect to rate and space allocation issues.Business Development: In alignment with global and regional sales, develop and execute strategies to grow the business and expand market share.Identify new business opportunities and build relationships with potential clients.Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop and implement sales strategies.Prepare and manage the country's budget and financial forecasts.Analyze the financial needs of the business and recommend budgets to management.Monitor financial performance, analyze variances,
and implement corrective actions.Ensure cost-effective operations and maximize profitability.Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team.Ensure proper staffing levels and manage recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.Foster a positive work environment and promote a culture of continuous improvement.Develop, implement, and maintain 'Smart goals' for all staff members.
Collaborate with regional and global management teams to ensure appropriate top-down and bottom-up alignment.Customer Relationship Management: Maintain and enhance relationships with key clients and stakeholders.Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective service delivery.Address and resolve any issues or concerns raised by clients.Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with local and international regulations and standards.Implement and monitor safety and security protocols.Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.Strategic Planning: Develop and implement the country's strategic plan in alignment with the company's goals.Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities.Report regularly to the Americas Managing Director on operational and financial performance.Consult with customers and vendors to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in all areas impacting customer service.Required Skills and Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
