Within H&M; the **Payroll Manager **for MX-CO-EC in the Controlling function, is responsible to manage the activities of the payroll department across all Mexico, Colombia, and Ecuador colleagues.
You ensure compliance with all country payroll regulations, overseeing and maintaining the company's Payroll Platform/external Service providers, tax and statistical reporting compliance for federal, state, and local jurisdictions.
This role reports into our Controlling Manager, MX-CO-EC and is based out of the Mexico City Support Office.
**A Day in the Life**
Working at H&M; means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities*
- Oversees the planning, execution,
and accurate processing of the weekly, Bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual payroll processes
- Manages the entire payroll operation and team including hiring staff, providing training and support, monitoring workloads, and reassigning responsibilities as required
- Ensures delivery of business results by meeting or exceeding all service level agreements
- Monitors federal, state, and local taxes and ensure accuracy of individual paychecks for more than 4500 colleagues
- Provides support to the entire organization regarding all payroll related matters
- Oversees the review, updates, and changes made to all the employee master records to ensure all changes processed by the stores in the 3 countries are accurately updated in our Time and Attendance software
- Works directly with accounting department to ensure the banking reconciliation process and journal entries are completed timely
- Manages the Expat contractual agreements from the payroll and tax perspective, by partnering with our consultants and Global Mobility Department
- Strong collaboration with the HR functions,
especially Compensation, Benefits, and People Relations
- Conducts regular audits to ensure date accuracy between our systems (PeopleData, Workforce One, and payroll software)
- Responsible for compliance with all applicable laws pertaining to taxes and payroll
- Manages all vendor relationships consistently and professionally
- Manages audits and serves as Payroll point of contact for any other audits (Accounting, Tax, etc.)

- Lead contact for any changes that need to be made within payroll system that affects HR systems, benefits, workforce, travel portal, etc.
- Responsible for payroll reports to head office in Sweden (e.g., HIP data)
- May perform other activities related to the position
**Qualifications** Who You Are**:
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting or Finance preferred
- 7+ years experience in payroll administration
- 3+ years of management experience
- Experience in managing payroll processes in different countries
- Ensures that payroll team provides excellent customer service according to H&M; standards
- Ability to lead, motivate and develop a team in the distance
- Must be able to effectively partner with personnel of organizational units involved (Controlling, HR, BT, Payroll, Stores and Global Organization) in order to maintain and improve system processes
- Detailed Knowledge of payroll tax laws (in Latin America)
- Ability to think and work strategically; able to plan ahead and foresee opportunities
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated while still working within a team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills,
time management, prioritizing, and able to work with deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to adapt to Company specific systems
- ** Fluent written and spoken English**
