This position is located within the Finance Unit of Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) in Mexico.
The Team Assistant will report to the Finance Supervisor.
**Responsibilities**:
Under the overall supervision of the Finance Supervisor, the Team Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:
- Collect and analyze data to identify trends or patterns and provide insights through graphs, charts, tables, and reports using data visualization methods to enable data-driven planning, decision-making, presentation, and reporting.
- Processes payment requests in connection with purchase of goods and services after ensuring compliance with all relevant rules and instructions,
and proper documentation and certification.
- Monitoring accounts and payment to vendors and individual contractors for services.
- Provides administrative support to the Head of Finance Unit.
- Prepares, processes and follows-up on administrative arrangements and forms related to the official travels
- Maintains files (both paper and electronic) and databases for work unit.
- Sorts and distributes or processes mail and other documents.
- Checks accuracy of simple calculations, codings, data, etc.
- Uses basic keyboard and word processing skills to prepare forms and short documents (e.g.
Memos, letters, electronic mail, etc.).
- Delivers urgent mail/messages.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Work Experience
A minimum of two year of relevant work experience in finance, accounting, travel or related
who possess a first-level university degree or higher.
Relevant training in data analytics is desirable.
Experience with ERP systems, such as Umoja (SAP) is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat; and Spanish is a working language of ECLAC.
For the position advertised, fluency in English is required; and fluency of Spanish is required.
Knowledge of another official United Nations language is a desirable.
