As a BPA Corporate Functions Sr Analyst supporting the Corporate Functions and Ops Team,
you will create value-driving financial support and provide standardization processes among Corporate Functions and Global Franchises.
This role will provide analytical support, intelligently challenge the status quo, and simplify/standardize outcomes.
The role is responsible for monthly POs - an accrual process within Corporate Functions and Global Franchises focused on US users with a very high service level, this process is critical in the role.
Responsible for running Intercompany charges process for US as BPA requestor/approver and working with people around the world.
Also responsible for monthly closing (validate figures are correct and represent what happen in the month for Global Groups) and variance analysis accompanying concise commentary for Corporate Groups such Strategy, CEO, and BoD as delivery of accurate forecast, and assessment of risks and opportunities.
This role will lead planning cycles (Strat Plan, Monthly Forecast, Target) with Corporate Groups under their umbrella.
During planning cycles, the role is responsible for consulting with global budget owners as appropriate,
as well as collaborating with local business partners to ensure the proper allocation of resources.
This role will standardize and automate monthly forecast and target cycles among Corporate Functions and Global Franchises.
In this role, a typical day will include:
- Lead month end POs - accrual process in US.
Actively participation in POs - accrual project such as Accrue Brilliantly, Accrue Engine, etc.
- Lead monthly Intercompany charges process for / in US
- Lead standardization for monthly process and annual target in Corporate Functions and Global Franchises
- Lead month end process for COE functions, demonstrating business understanding, curiosity, and conveying explanations and actions in an effective manner
- Lead forecasting, annual budgeting, Strat Plan and performance management processes
- Act as Finance liaison with COEs key functional leads,
as well as partnering with the Global Budget Owners
- Ensure adequate accounting, reporting and controlling systems are in place to reach adequate levels of forecast accuracy, to be able to timely identify and inform of potential risks and opportunities and to ensure delivery of productivity targets
- Disciplined use of financial systems (ASPIRE, APMR, SAP, BI Analysis etc.)
to manage and perform analytical analysis of financial results
- Ownership and accountability of data integrity
- Identify, prioritize, and lead process improvements to drive value creation
- Support Sr Finance Managers / Senior Directors, including template design, ad-hoc analysis, etc.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related analytical discipline.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A;)
roles.
- Exceptional analytical abilities, capable of using data tools to drive decision-making and managing large pools of data in Excel.
- In-depth knowledge of SAP & BI tools and practical experience analyzing data, program metrics, and performance.
- Demonstrates complex problem resolution proficiency and the ability to identify/implement process and system enhancements.
- Proactive communication style with the ability to build/foster relationships with business partners.
- Proven leadership, analytical, influencing, and problem-solving skills combined with the ability to identify risks and impacts and possible solutions and corrective actions.
- Excellent written and verbal English skills, along with quantitative, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
