Position Title: Orbia’s Head of Public Affairs Mexico

Reports to Position Title: CSO, VP of Corporate Affairs & President, Orbia Mexico

Remote work: Yes (It will be important to be flexible to attend meetings at Reforma Office on a frequent basis)

Functional Area: Sustainability

1. MAIN PURPOSE

To lead Orbia’s strategic stakeholder engagement plan in Mexico (public and government affairs efforts)



by creating a detailed strategic stakeholder map and strategy and execute it by developing strategic relationships and advocacy strategies around strategic issues, aligned with the company’s goals and enhance its reputation. Additionally, monitor closely trends key issues and policies. The role ensures focuses on creating and maintaining effective strategies, plans, advocacy, representation, and community engagement across local, state, and federal levels.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develop and implement comprehensive public relations strategies to enhance the company’s brand image and public reputation in Mexico.
2. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with government officials and other key stakeholders in Mexico.
3. Policy Monitoring: Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments that could impact the organization,



providing insights and recommendations.
4. Regulatory and Legal Compliance: Ensure the company complies with Mexican regulations and standards related to public relations, media interactions, and lobbying.
5. Public Representation: Represent the organization at public events, conferences, and in discussions with government entities in Mexico.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Communications on consistent messaging and positive coverage and with Corporate Social Responsibility on initiatives that enhance the organization’s community engagement and social responsibility efforts in Mexico.
7. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement government/public affairs strategies that align with the organization’s goals.
8. Crisis Management:



Serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization in public and media interactions. Address and manage any issues or crises that arise in relation to government affairs, ensuring minimal impact on the organization.
9. Advocacy and Strategy: Develop and implement strategies to advocate for the organization’s interests at local, state, and federal levels.

The role requires navigating complex political environments and building trust with a wide range of stakeholders, including government officials and community leaders. Implements strategic actions that involve significant cross-functional collaboration and influence, as well as the ability to manage high-stakes issues or crises with potential impacts on the organization’s reputation and operations.

7. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LANGUAGE, & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Academic Level: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Affairs, Political Science, Communication, Business, Law, Economics or related field.
- Language(s) and level of proficiency: Native Spanish / English proficient written and verbal.
- Knowledge/Experience: Significant and extensive experience in public affairs, communications, or a similar role, often with a focus on government relations, advocacy, policy development. Strong communication, analytical, negotiation and leadership skills, along with the ability to navigate complex political environments.




- Experience working in a multinational corporation or within the private sector.
- In-depth knowledge of the political landscape in Mexico, including key governmental bodies and the regulatory environment.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with government officials, media, and external stakeholders.
- Crisis communication expertise and ability to manage high-pressure situations.
- Ability to think strategically and creatively while managing multiple priorities.
- Physical requirements for the position such as mobility, vision, strength, etc. (applicable in line with local laws): N/A
