**About our group**:
An opportunity exists within Seagate to join the Manufacturing Process Development team who are responsible for the provision of underlying process technology and infrastructure for all aspects of our Manufacturing Process operations.
**About the role - you will**:
- Continuous development of understanding for current product and process infrastructure.
- Support of Yield Investigation and improvement initiatives.
- Root Cause Analysis of product and process issues.
- Recommendation of fixes to process infrastructure.
- Implementation of fixes to the process infrastructure.
- Support of product and process infrastructure updates.
- Proposing changes to current practices to ensure that improvements are implemented, and repeat errors are eliminated.
- Maintaining a working knowledge of current and future key business systems and technologies.
- Providing technical support and training to engineering and test staff working within the Manufacturing facilities.
**About you**:

**Your experience includes**:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Software/Electronic Engineering or similar, that demonstrates formal training and background in the technical skill areas detailed below, and 5+ years experience, or Master's Degree in the same and 3+ years or PhD and 0+ years experience or equivalent education and experience.
**Core Technical Skills**:
- A high level of competency in Python programming,
such as might be obtained by experience in Unix/Linux system programming, device driver, hardware control or embedded environments.
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux architecture, system programming and configuration, to include kernel interfaces, device drivers, storage management and networking.
It would be helpful if this skill area related specifically to Linux and/or SCO Open Server.
- Good competence in Unix/Linux system use, administration, and programming, including familiarity with standard Unix environment development tools.
- A background in systems hardware and software integration testing, preferably with Storage Systems technologies using FCAL, SCSI and Ethernet interfaces.
- Experience working within a high technology batch manufacturing environment within a software and technical engineering support role.
- Good working knowledge and understanding of network infrastructure and protocols.
- 2 years of experience in software Engineering
**Non-Technical Skills/Attributes**:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team, but with a high degree of self-motivation.
- The ability to prioritize and coordinate activities while working under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
- Experience of working within an Agile and / or Scrum environment would be an advantage
