To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a NPI Mechanical Engineer located in Guadalajara North Reporting to the NPI Director, Mechanical NEXTracker, role involves facilitating a positive experience with NEXTracker.
A New Product Introduction (NPI)
program encompasses all the activities within an organization to define, develop and launch a new or improved product.
NPI Engineer will focus all NPI activities with a specific focus on electrical product development and packaging.
What a typical day looks like:
- Lead technical qualification efforts to support product launches.
Support product development using the overall prioritization, milestones, deliverables, and success criteria for product qualification and ramp.
Focus will balance quality, customer satisfaction, cost, and sustainability.
- Work with senior technical leads to develop technical innovation strategy for the program
- Identify, and analyze problems, taking the initiative to implement improvements identified with a recognized business benefit
- Lead packaging and logistics development and cost reduction initiatives for assigned suppliers.
- Coordinate the day-to-day activities required to deliver all projects and deliverables on time.
- Identify and mitigate risks.
- Host recurring project meetings and deliver status updates to all stakeholders.
- Manage external dependencies.
- Manage teams of contract support personnel at multiple locations.
- Actively participate in client discussions, meetings, and business development opportunities as needed
- Support product development, sales, and marketing as requested
- Internal customer voice; an advocate for the customer within NEXTracker
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- Working experience in manufacturing engineering, product development and new products introduction (prototype to volume ramp-up)
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Experience working with 3rd party Contract Manufacturing (CM) and Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM)
- Electronics manufacturing services (EMS) Contract Manufacturing Experience is a plus
- Understanding of electrical component level supply and basic engineering concepts.
Specifically, background should include EMS, PCBAs & power supplies is a plus.
- Familiar with basic engineering concepts
- Familiar with FMEA, DOE, DFMA, DFQ, DFS and continual process improvement.
- Ability to work well in fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Passion for solar is a plus
- Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally.
- Fluent oral and written communications in English and Spanish.
