Assistant Trade Controller - General Accounting and Analysis

Work Setup: Hybrid (3 days in Zug office, 2 days flexible) Summary: The Assistant Controller Trading is an essential member of the Corporate Controlling & Accounting team and is responsible for reporting of financial results for the Hershey legal entities in scope, ensuring accuracy, compliance with accounting standards, and timely delivery of financial statements.
This role is responsible for statutory reporting, local tax filings & payroll accounting.
The individual will bring expertise in US & Swiss GAAP financial accounting & reporting, derivative accounting, and a proven track record in managing internal and external audit teams.
Supporting the Controller Corporate Accounting, this position will serve as a strategic member of the Controllership team in International and will work closely with HSY's HBP teams, Commodity Procurement & Global Supply Chain, internal and external Audit (EY), Corporate Treasury & Tax to ensure accurate reporting/disclosure and compliance with all external standards.
The role is based in Zug, Switzerland.
Major Duties/Responsibilities: Financial Accounting and Reporting Process - US & Swiss GAAP (30%) Prepare and review Hershey Trading GmbH's financial statements, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and Swiss Code of Obligations (OR).Lead the financial accounting process for the legal entities in scope, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of results.Conduct in-depth financial analysis of specific balance sheet & P&L; items, identifying trends, variances, and potential areas of improvement.Collaborate with Corporate Controlling on special topics such as investments, intangible assets, impairments, lease accounting,
and dividend flow.Continuous improvement of accounting processes, including reduction of manual journal entries and enhancement of account reconciliations.Internal and External Audit (30%) Coordinate all entity specific audits for the business, including internal and external audits for financial processes and internal controls/SOX reviews.Act as a Control owner for dedicated controls in commodities, physical procurement, IT, and financial reporting.Develop education and awareness on the purpose of internal controls for the Swiss commodity and procurement team.Direct and Indirect Taxes, Treasury, Payroll Accounting (20%) Complete quarterly tax reporting packages for Corporate with estimates of income taxes under Swiss & US GAAP.Review and submit VAT filings for Germany (monthly)
and Switzerland (quarterly).Provide necessary supporting documents for the annual Swiss tax return filing.Collaborate with Corporate treasury on agreements & execution of intercompany loans, dividend flow, and investments.Oversee payroll accounting process for Switzerland based employees.Commodity Derivatives (15%) Accounting for commodity futures and options under US & Swiss GAAP.Oversight on daily processes for commodity futures and options including margin payments and reconciliation.Act as an ambassador for commodity-related accounting and control topics.Special Projects / Ad Hoc (5%) Assist on special projects and ad hoc assignments as needed.Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance8+ years of relevant experienceExperience in public accounting (e.g., Big 4)Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and Swiss GAAP reporting requirementsExcellent verbal and written communication skills in EnglishAbility to read German is a plusUnderstanding of Swiss tax system and Swiss Code of Obligation for corporationsExcellent project management and organizational skillsExposure to SAP S/4 Hana, Blackline software/tools preferredStrong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Education: Bachelor's degree required in Accounting or Finance; CPA license highly preferred.

8+ years of relevant experience, including public accounting with US GAAP / Swiss GAAP expertiseUS GAAP and Swiss Tax experience, SAP experienceGeneral Accounting and Taxation, Audit exposure preferred
