What you will do:
- Drive productivity from import-export (Ocean freight, Air freight, Assessorial charges) through cost transformation and upselling.
- Proactively measure and manage ocean freight capacity globally working with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and various sector representatives
- Be an escalation point of contact for sectors working with port authorities, and carriers to resolve issues connected to balancing costs, service, and compliance.
- Coordinate to optimize global business processes.
- Guarantee operational continuity for all sectors by implementing the right international logistic strategy for ocean freight shipments.
- Deliver cost reductions and savings by optimizing ocean freight trade routes international logistic routes, transportation types, custom borders, carriers, and brokers, as well as, reducing detention, demurrages, delays, and storages.
- Analyze all import/export operations across the globe to identify possible ocean freight optimization opportunities.
- Monitor carrier compliance and results related to ocean freight execution and performance.
- Drive excellence and improve visibility of ocean shipments through use of digital tools and platforms.
- Establish a winning team culture (Sales/Customer Service) that can cover the identified target accounts and maneuver professionally to deliver extraordinary customer service.
- Execute pricing and procurement to ensure that buying and selling is reasonable and presented to customers in a well digested format.
- Provide strong infrastructure of information sharing between Customer Care, sales, and buy/sell divisions.
- Monthly financial review, account status, pipeline management, loss trend analysis and retention awareness.
Connect with key divisions to align on performance.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Supply Chain, International Logistics, or applicable degree
- 2+ years' experience in transportation (ocean, air, international logistics required)
- Ability to drive large transformational change agenda to include people, process, technology transformation.
- English fluency both written and verbal required; exceptional communication skills across global businesses (additional languages as an asset)
- Strong track record of managing multiple competing cross-functional priorities.
Bonus Points if:
- Experience with using logistics IT visibility platforms and tools to drive proactive management of ocean / air freight.
- Proficient with process improvement methodologies and supply chain excellence (Lean Six Sigma Belt/ Agile/ APICS)
- Experience directly working with cross-functional competencies, people, and teams.
- Strong track record of developing capabilities and scaling sustained operations resulting in long-term growth.
