This position will be temporarily vacant for a period of 6 months.
This position is located in Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean.
The Office Assistant reports to the Chief of Agricultural Development and Climate Change Unit.
**Responsibilities**:
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Agricultural Development and Climate Change Unit, the Team Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:

- Collect and analyze data to identify trends or patterns and provide insights through graphs, charts, tables, and reports using data visualization methods to enable data-driven planning, decision-making, presentation and reporting.




Data analysis will be primarily linked to the organization of expert meetings and associated administrative processes.
- Performs a variety of administrative duties (e.g.
meeting organization, reservations, office supply and equipment orders, etc.
), including preparing and/or processing administrative requests/documents (e.g.
travel requests, expense claims, vouchers, etc.).
- Sorts and distributes or processes mail and other documents.
- Uses basic keyboard and word processing skills to prepare forms and short documents (e.g.
memos, letters, faxes, electronic mail, list of participants, etc.).
- Receives phone calls and visitors and refers them to the appropriate source or reply personally to queries when possible.
- Photocopies a variety of documents and other materials.
- Delivers urgent mail/messages.
- Maintains unit files (paper and electronic).
- Operates a variety of office equipment in the performance of basic office functions, e.g.
photocopier, facsimile, printer, scanner, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Work Experience
One year of experience in clerical and general office support or related area is required.
One year or more of experience organizing meetings, courses or workshops is desirable.
One year or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat; and Spanish is a working language of ECLAC.
For the position advertised, fluency in English is required; and fluency of Spanish is required.
Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable.
Knowledge of the second language (English/Spanish) will be tested, unless it can be supported by a certificate from a recognized institution.
NOTE: ''Advanced level'' equals a rating of ''fluent'' in all four areas (speak, read, write, and understand) and ''Intermediate level'' equals a rating of ''confident'' in two of the four areas.
Assessment
