.The VCM Analyst must act as the single source of cost data for the program(s) under his/her responsibility.
He/she must act as a trusted advisor on cost-related issues to the Program Director, Chief Vehicle Engineer, Purchasing Project Manager, Finance and Cost Engineers.
The VCM Analyst must contribute and commit to the vision of transforming Vehicle Cost Management team as main driver of cost performance in projects.
**Job Functions include, but are not limited to**:Develop, facilitate and control the current budget and forecast for Purchased Parts, Vendor Tooling, Logistics and Manufacturing for all New Model Car Programs (Minor Model and Full Model Change)
in the Americas region during the Product Development Phase to Mass ProductionTdC (Total delivery Cost - COGS+R&D;) Actuals tracking to measure the progress of Cost Reduction targets by function.Will work as part of the Product Development Team to ensure that the vehicle purchased parts, vendor tooling, Logistics and Manufacturing budgets and forecasts are updated periodically (depending on size and strategic importance) to reflect the current design intent, risks and opportunities, commercial issues and other items brought forward by the team.Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of program financial conditions to all members of the Product Development Team (Engineering, Purchasing, Program Directors (PMO), Chief Vehicle Engineers, etc.
).Will engage in business case development as necessary and support other functional groups in order to optimize cost height and profitability.Promote early identification of risks and opportunities to the development programsCost Reduction opportunity generation, along with challenging and supporting the implementation of this CR OPP,
through the following activities (but not limited to):Internal/external vehicle & commodity benchmarkingFeature cost analysis to support Right sizing activitiesWill develop Business Plan for "Minor and Full Model Change", working very closely with Finance, Purchasing, R&D; and PMO.Drive consistency and continuous improvement within the country, North America region and globally by documenting procedures, leading cross-functional, or intra departmental projects.Ensure compliance with Nissan's procedures, policies, and internal controls.
**Education**: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics or a related field.
**Required experience**:2+ years of automotive experience in Manufacturing, Finance, Engineering, Purchasing or Vehicle Program Management; including new model product development and project management.
**Language**:**English (Business fluent)**:
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
